Delighted to share our research on Navigating the Double-Edged Sword: Women's Empowerment in the Digital Age and the Challenge of Cybercrime, co-authored with Dr. Sahil Bhalla (PhD) and presented in the Global Summit on Challenges & Opportunities in the Himalayan Region organized by UPES. In a world where technology is a catalyst for empowerment, it also presents unique challenges, especially for women facing cybercrime. In India, over 52% of women have reported receiving obscene messages online, and cyberstalking accounts for a significant portion of cybercrimes against women (Source: NCRB 2023). Our study delves into these pressing issues and highlights the urgent need for stronger digital literacy programs and more stringent enforcement of cyber laws.
