I have never thought of joining a food business for 5 years. My family ran a food business. Since young, I have heard them say they would wake up at 3-4am to prepare ingredients for the day and end their day 11pm or sometimes, 12am to ensure the restaurant is clean. So, I made a video to record one of the busiest days we have in Picha. From getting ingredients, cutting the chicken, cooking the food, packing the meal box to deliver to the customer, and planning for next-day operation, I am amazed at how much things can be completed together with the team. To be honest, I am not always involved in the operation with my own hand because I have a very strong team to complete the orders without my presence. Sometimes getting into the operation can help me to oversee what needs to be involved, what can be done in a different way to improve the efficiency and what the team dynamic looks like. Kudos to the team to wake up early in the morning almost everyday to cook for our beloved PichaHeros, PS: I just started to learn how to make short videos to introduce my career more. Is the food prepared and served in a restaurant to customers classified as a good or a service? When determining whether food prepared and served in a restaurant is classified as a good or a service, we need to examine the tariff classification of goods and services along with the rules for interpreting these tariffs. In Pakistan, Chapter 21 of the Custom Tariffs classifies prepared foods as goods, with Tariff Heading 21.06 being particularly relevant. However, services provided by restaurants fall under PCT heading 9801.2000 in Chapter 98 of the First Schedule of the Customs Act 1969. This apparent conflict is resolved by referring to the General Rules of Interpretation. Specifically, Rule 3 states that when goods can be classified under multiple headings, the most specific description takes precedence over a general one. If classification is still unclear, the last numerical heading among those considered is used. Applying Rule 3, tariff heading 9801.2000 ("services provided or rendered by restaurants") takes precedence over headings 21.04 (Soup and broth) and 21.06 (Food preparation not elsewhere specified or included).
