There has been an inspiration video that has been doing rounds. We can draw following lessons that relate to Alumni Challenge. Key Lessons from the Reunion Analogy: i) Perspective Shift: Perspectives evolve with age, prompting reflection on life's journey. ii) Humility and Reflection: Humility grows with time, fostering deeper introspection. iii) Appreciation for Life's Essence: Life is valued for deeper aspects like faithfulness and relationships. Iv) Tender Moments and Unity: Tender reunions evoke gratitude and unity among attendees. Acknowledgment of Mortality: The analogy underscores the importance of cherishing every moment. How Alumni Challenge Applies These Lessons: a) Promoting Reflection: Encourages alumni to reflect on their personal and educational growth. b) Fostering Community and Unity: Creates spaces for alumni to reconnect and bond over shared experiences. c) Emphasizing Values-Based Engagement: Prioritizes values like integrity and community service. d) Facilitating Meaningful Connections: Organizes events to foster connections beyond surface-level interactions. e) Celebrating Milestones and Gratitude: Encourages gratitude for life's journey and the relationships formed. When people think of "apprenticeship," we often picture trade schools and workers outside of the "knowledge economy." But apprenticeship is the most effective way to develop people in all sorts of roles, from CEO's to scientists (see link). Anytime we are designing an adult learning program that is *not* primarily based around apprenticeship, we need to ask ourselves why, and have a strong reason for it. https://lnkd.in/dtY5CbMF

This #FellowFriday, we’d like you to meet 2024 Impact Fellow Terrye S. Davis, M.A.Ed. Terrye shared: “One key takeaway I've learned thus far in my work as an EP Fellow at NYC Department of Education is the value of having influence without power. I have been reminded that everyone has a role in the social change ecosystem to make a collective impact towards fighting against systemic inequities. In my role, working intimately with data has allowed me to better narrate the story it tells and make it more accessible to other partners and decision-makers. By highlighting and elevating what is of most importance from the data, I see that I am actively ensuring data is being used to disrupt our inequitable systems and make an impact – which isn't direct, but dynamic.” == Don’t miss out on the opportunity to use your unique skillset to make an impact in K-12 education. Apply to the EP Impact Fellowship by May 28: https://lnkd.in/g8edT_bW

🔬🌟 Reflecting on a Decade of Achievement: Celebrating British Science Week with the Science Industry Partnership 🌟🔬 As we commemorate British Science Week, it's an opportune moment to pause and acknowledge the strides made by the Science Industry Partnership (SIP) in bolstering the life science sector over the past decade. Our journey has been marked by milestones that have not only shaped the industry landscape but also paved the way for a brighter future. Here are some key achievements: 🔍 Publication of the Skills Strategy 2030 delivering insight and priorities for policy formulation, forecasting skills demand and new jobs in industry. A refresh in 2024 will include advances in AI and data analysis of sector-specific skills shortages. 🤝 Leveraging the Life sciences Vision Delivery Board’s interest in skills and talent through our Futures Group-a direct link to the Life sciences Ministerial Council. 💼 £50m announced at the Autumn Statement for apprenticeships as a result of sector lobbying activities and regular dialogue with Government.. 📜 Production of a Sector Skills Manifesto highlighting some of the complexities of the skills landscape and proposing practical employer supported recommendations for the future. As we look back on these achievements, we are reminded of the power of collaboration, innovation, and collective vision. Together, we've laid the groundwork for a thriving life science sector that is poised to tackle the challenges of tomorrow and unlock new opportunities for growth and discovery. Join us in celebrating a decade of progress and envisioning a future where British science continues to lead the way! #BritishScienceWeek2024 #ScienceIndustryPartnership #LifeSciences #SkillsStrategy #Collaboration #Innovation #FutureOfWork
