📢 In a series of groundbreaking decisions, the Supreme Court has boldly redefined the scope and power of the "administrative state," signaling a pivotal shift in the balance of power within the federal government. Katten’s Financial Markets and Regulation team published an advisory that delves deep into the consequences of the Court's actions. The decisions in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, SEC v. Jarkesy, and Corner Post, Inc. v. Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System are more than legal precedents; they reimagine the relationship between administrative agencies, Congress and the Courts. With the US election just next week, the questions turn to how polling may impact the most significant event in American politics, historically. LBB (Little Black Book) spoke with the industry’s data and insights experts to find out just what adland can learn from the slippery, yet compelling, world of political polling. Our North American CSO, Justin Cox's verdict? "The end goal isn’t about being accurate. It’s about story". Read Justin's take on how "marketers should take a page from politics and look at data as the main character in a bigger story" in the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eEJdF-dm

Election Update: Do you think the market is pricing in the upcoming Presidential race? Trump's decisive 30-point margin of victory amidst arctic weather conditions in Iowa may well cement both perceptions of and the actual trajectory of the Republican primary (the previous largest margin for non-incumbents was just 13 points; Trump won in every district). #DeSantis' second-place finish is reportedly likely to keep him in the race for at least the next six weeks; he headed to South Carolina ahead of its Feb 24 primary, eschewing New Hampshire where third-place finisher #Haley is polling in second place ahead of next week's primary. This will keep the race crowded and feed perceptions of Trump's dominance. Trump's capturing greater than 50% of votes and delegates should, in our view, remind observers that many of the pending contests (including SC, NV, and many Super Tuesday states) are either winner-take-all or, in some cases, if a candidate clears 50%. The majority of delegates will have been awarded by Mar 19, and we view it as overwhelmingly likely that #Trump will have secured the vast majority of those. The significance for markets, in our view, is that the path dependency of Trump as the nominee will be accepted in the very near term and, in any event, in the first quarter, and this will make its way into pricing more policy binaries into markets. **In Pennsylvania, the Battlefield for America's Future** When the stakes are as high as they are now, Pennsylvania isn't just another battleground state—it's the front line. The latest polls reveal a nail-biting dead heat between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. Yet, it’s not just about two candidates locked in a race; it's about contrasting visions for the next chapter of America's story. Why does this matter to you? Because this isn't just an electoral tug-of-war—it's an opportunity for each of us to consider what kind of future we want to construct. It's about industry, it's about innovation, it's about the American Dream that starts anew in every town and city. As both campaign teams swarm through Pennsylvania's streets, homes, and conversations, it's time to think critically about our collective strategy. What lessons can we draw from this tight race? How do we, as individuals, become more than mere spectators in this grand arena? Challenge yourself to see beyond the headlines. Dive deep into what each campaign stands for, and remember—sometimes the future is determined not by those who run but by those who vote. This is your battlefield too. What move will you make?
