Observation Window: A Key Role for Cabin Crew As cabin crew, safety is always our top priority, and observation is one of the most important tools we have to ensure it. From our stations, the windows are more than just a view—they’re essential for maintaining situational awareness throughout the flight. Here’s why window observation matters: 🥶 Safety Monitoring: We keep an eye on external conditions, from ice on the wings to runway obstructions or other potential hazards. ‼️ Emergency Readiness: In any situation, observing the environment helps us make informed decisions about evacuation or safety procedures. 🧑✈️ Supporting the Flight Deck: Our observations provide vital information about areas of the aircraft the pilots cannot see. It’s a responsibility that combines vigilance, teamwork, and training, and it’s one of the many reasons I’m proud to be a part of the aviation world. Every flight is an opportunity to learn, adapt, and ensure that every passenger feels safe and cared for. #CabinCrew #AviationSafety #Teamwork #AvionExpress #livingaviation #careerwings

There’s Been an Airplane Emergency. Here’s What Flight Attendants Do Next. To prepare for these terrifying but rare onboard crises, new flight attendants on all commercial carriers must undergo four to six weeks of training. Additional one- to two-day training, primarily focused on safety, recurs annually. It varies from airline to airline. We recently visited Alaska in Seattle to learn about flight attendant training, which includes https://lnkd.in/gWj3j2XU

✈️ Aviation Safety Starts with Responsibility 🛑 Every aviation professional has a duty to ensure their performance is never compromised. Full awareness of the risks associated with alcohol or drug use is crucial for maintaining safety in aviation. Psychoactive substances can: ❌ Degrade safe performance ❌ Endanger colleagues and the public ❌ Erode trust in the aviation industry By staying substance-free, personnel not only enhance safety and efficiency but also protect their health—while still enjoying an active social life. Join #ITSAcademy in a 1-hour course designed for pilots and cabin crew to raise awareness of psychoactive substances, their legal and regulatory implications, and how they impact safety and performance in aviation. #AviationSafety #ResponsibleFlying #SafetyFirst #OperationalRisk #HealthAndSafety

The rise of unruly and disruptive passenger behaviour is a growing concern for the aviation industry. As we gear up for the DISPAX World Conference 2024 and EATS 2024, we must critically examine whether our cabin crew are equipped to handle such challenges. At SecuriCare, we believe that training is key to managing conflict and enhancing safety on board. Our specialised training programmes provide airline crew with vital knowledge and skills to de-escalate conflicts effectively, allowing them to focus on what matters most: the safety of all passengers. By promoting effective communication and anger management techniques, we aim to minimise the risk of disruptive behaviour and improve the overall flying experience. #AirRage #AviationSecurity #DisruptiveBehaviour #CabinCrew #TransportSecurity #CrewManagement

Safety Cards ... Reality Check and Controversial Opinion Sorry for being the party pooper! Dear Aviation Professionals/ CAA, It would be an understatement to say that hardly any passenger actually listens to/ watches a safety briefing, but when was the last time YOU (trained in Safety and Emergency Evacuation Procedures) actually looked at a safety card on an aircraft with the intent of understanding it all from the perspective of a normal passenger and how many passengers have you seen studying it? I have been looking at various ones during my last flights to aviation conferences where I was representing Dynamic Advanced Training. Potentially with a little more understanding than average Joe, I can openly admit to my personal opinion that they serve little purpose. I acknowledge that much thinking goes into the designing of the cards and that the requisite information is there but honestly believe that passengers don't look at them and very few people understand the content. They just don't "get it". I tested it by asking some passengers to explain to me the nitty gritty details of the safety card after forcing them to study it (I used please and thank you!) --> it's a sobering experience and makes me wonder if we are ticking a box from the previous century. Don't believe me? Try it yourself and let me know your thoughts. Am happy to change my mind if you can convince me with concrete evidence that they are really satisfying the intended safety objective... #cabincrewtraining #aviationsafety #airlines #aviation
