DOE is committing up to $1.2 billion of federal funds for the Gulf Coast Hydrogen Hub—led by HyVelocity (HyV) and up to $1 billion of federal funds for the Midwest Hydrogen Hub—led by the Midwest Alliance for Clean Hydrogen LLC (MachH2). These awards follow three previously awarded H2Hubs (ARCH2, ARCHES, and PNWH2), and together, they will help drive private sector investment in clean hydrogen, setting the nation on a course to hit critical long-term decarbonization objectives. We look forward to working with the Hubs, the Administration, and our Council stakeholders to ensure that funding is allocated to offtakers and producers who will build strong regional networks of hydrogen distribution. #H2Hubs #hydrogen #transit Check out the release from DOE - https://lnkd.in/eZGRcnHK

Interview with Sandrine Meunier, head of French gas TSO, GRTgaz She says France is set to miss its electrolyser capacity target by five years, likely installing 6.5 GW by 2035 instead of 2030 “It’s going to take a little longer to achieve competitive hydrogen production, it’s a new industry so it necessarily takes time to scale up,” although industrial consumers are committed to switching to hydrogen Despite the weak signals, GRTgaz is developing hydrogen infrastructure projects in industrial hubs in France, but is not yet working on large-scale pan-European projects, which are “much more long term“ The TSO head argues hydrogen production costs should be identical across France, Germany and Spain to ensure French industrials remain in the country, factoring in transportation costs Full story: https://lnkd.in/ews_xj-v -

Three of the UK's biggest energy firms have come together in Parliament to launch plans for a low carbon hydrogen hub. The project, named H2H Easington, includes proposals to develop a multi-stage green and blue hydrogen production facility, which will grow over time as the #hydrogen economy does. The partnership will also explore the possibility of a dedicated pipeline linking H2H Easington to Equinor's proposed H2H Saltend hydrogen production facility, as well as Equinor and SSE Thermal's proposed hydrogen storage facility in East Yorkshire, as concerns remain about the infrastructure required to transport hydrogen economically.
