Knowledge sharing is the key to innovation and growth. Curious minds have always sought to learn and share insights – in the past, in the present, and into the future. Over a hundred years ago, pioneers like Henry Ford and Thomas Edison gathered with a diverse group of forward thinkers, known as the “Vagabonds,” to learn from each other’s experiences, successes, and failures. Even without modern communication tools, they formed a strong community, determined to support each other’s progress. Today, the need for collaboration and knowledge exchange across sectors is as strong as ever. By sharing knowledge, we strengthen one another, uncover fresh perspectives, and discover new paths for growth. Are you just as curious, with ideas that could inspire other farmers worldwide? Send an email to [email protected] and join a growing network of innovative minds. Let’s build the future together! www.vagabondgrowers.online

BLOGGED: The R&D Research Team https://lnkd.in/gcGpdDBz The Research team (also more recently called "the innovation team" or the "disruption team" in more "hip" companies) is the one most people think about with respect to an R&D team. It's important to note, however, that the team cannot be just focused on research--like the Scout team, the Research team has to have a constant eye on what they build having a practical impact on the company that sponsors them. For that reason, I often make the conscious decision to put the word "practical" in front of the name, so that the emphasis is on practical research that will have a direct effect on the company's ability to execute.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡: 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 "𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐠𝐧𝐮𝐧𝐠" A few years back, I was captivated by a column by Dorothee Krings in which she discussed her concept of "Vergegnung”, a neologism meaning the opposite of the German word “Begegnung” (encounter) and referring to the superficial and often destructive interactions that sadly dominate our daily lives: It's when we meet, but don't really meet, marred by 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐞, resulting in unsatisfactory, often contentious or simply not-existing exchange. 😫 In contrast, a genuine encounter is characterised by 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 in the other person. Such interactions promote 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝐦𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and, last but not least, reward us with a rush of endorphins. 😃 Translate this to the biotech workplace and the implications are profound: For a team or an organisation to thrive, genuine encounters are not only beneficial, they are essential. It's through these authentic engagements that 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝, 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐝, 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝. This environment is a breeding ground not only for innovation, but also for professional and organisational growth. Let's challenge ourselves to transcend "Vergegnung" by improving our skills as active listeners and valuable colleagues, striving for meaningful encounters in every conversation, every call, every team meeting. 💪🏼 The future of Biotech depends not just on our scientific prowess but on our ability to genuinely connect, collaborate, and create together. #Biotechnology #Collaboration #Innovation #Teamwork #ProfessionalGrowth

Strategic learning for transformative innovation ‘Experimentation’ constitutes in many aspect the very engine of ‘transformative innovation’. Yet, experimentation also presupposes parallel processes for ‘learning’, so as to both ‘control’ and further ‘develop’ the experiment. This need for integrated learning processes will only increase as with growing uncertainty and complexity. To further explore this link between ‘experimentation’ and ‘learning’, ETIN initiated earlier this year a specific work theme around the concept of ‘strategic learning’. This work has now has yielded some really interesting insights. In this podcast, you will get a first glimpse of these findings. Don’t miss out!
