⚽ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? ⚽ Are you going to apply? 📩 Here is the specification if you are. 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙣'𝙨 𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝 (𝙉𝙁𝘾𝙎𝙂𝙋0377) I have for a long time wondered 💡 how Football Club owners & executives draw up their requirements for the post of their Club Manager or Head Coach 👨💼 👩💼 . So, well done at least to the FA ⚽ 🏆 for publishing their specification to recruit the successor to Gareth Southgate? But have they got it right? Or is it a PR exercise because they already know who the successful candidate is going to be? ✔ Or do they need to include some benefits to attract the right candidates eg. hybrid working, pizza Friday's, free car parking, company logo shirts etc 😂 Calling all Search, Selection and Recruiters out there - how would you write this job specification differently? ❓ ❓ ❓ Answers in the Comments please - looking forward to some interesting thoughts! 4 weeks ago The Tartan Army descended en masse to Rheinenergie Stadion in Köln for what was going to be the experience of most of our lives as a generation of Scotland fans. It was something I had booked months before I was made redundant and it was a well needed break from the job hunt where it feels like you’re up against the same number of applicants per role that is in this picture 😭 I was still replying to job ads on the Eurostar, filling out applications over breakfast and making appointments for meetings and calls when I got back but I was also making sure I was enjoying ticking off an item from my bucket list with one of my oldest mates. What’s my point? Well, if you’re looking for a role, you can feel like you are always on and in some ways it feels like you are working harder than when you are working with the pressure you put yourself under to find work. You have to try and also do things for you, and remember that pouring from an empty cup isn’t going to deliver the best version of you at interview. You don’t need to go abroad to do this obviously but doing things you enjoy will absolutely help. It’s the equivalent of taking breaks whilst working and you’ll find you can come up with new ideas for your job hunt if you take that step out of it. On that note, I’m still looking 😂 so if you’ve got this far and your are looking for someone with: ▪️over 20 years Recruitment Experience ▪️An Operational Manager who looks to inspire, support and encourage their teams rather than just ‘Manage’ them ▪️Just someone to maybe do things a bit differently than you’re doing just now in your #RPO, #MSP, #TA, #Resourcing or #Recruitment functions Then drop me a DM and we can have a chat.

𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 t𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 c𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Last night’s England vs. Greece match highlighted a key lesson we can all learn from football—sometimes picking the most talented individuals doesn’t make the best team. Watching England, it was clear that while individual talent was abundant, the chemistry and cohesion weren’t quite there. This got me thinking about recruitment. When hiring, it’s tempting to pick the candidate with the best CV or the most impressive qualifications, but is that always the right choice? Just like in football, a team full of stars doesn’t guarantee success. Sometimes, the best team player—someone who elevates others and works for the collective—is far more valuable than the top individual performer, who might be more focused on personal glory. When building a team, the right dynamic can drive better performance overall. It’s essential to consider how a candidate will mesh with existing team members and contribute to the bigger picture, not just their individual skill set. Next time you’re hiring, ask yourself: are you looking for the best player, or the best team player? This is nothing to do with the most in form English Striker who performed in the Euros not starting. One for you Andrew Taylor Rob Atherton🤣🤦♂️ #Recruitment #Teamwork #Hiring #FinancialServices #RecruitmentMatters

Recruiting is a lot like golfing ⛳—it’s all about strategy, precision, and patience. Just as golfers study the course, recruiters dive deep into understanding roles and candidates. Rushing a swing can ruin a game; hastily filling a position can hurt a company. Both need a steady hand and a long-term view. Networking? Crucial in both. Golf courses build connections, just as strong networks uncover top talent. And adaptability? Essential. Every course and every candidate search has its unique challenges. So, next time you’re on the green, remember: perfect drives and perfect hires both come from dedication and skill. 🏌️♂️🏌️♀️ #Recruiting #legalrecruiting #LegalRecruitment #AttorneySearch #RecruitingChallenges #LegalCareers

Did you catch the Euros game on Saturday? ⚽ As I watched the game I noticed many similarities between football and recruitment. 1) 🌟 Scouting Talent - Just like England's talent scouts comb through leagues to find their star players, us recruiters sift through CVs to find top talent. 2) 🌟 Building the Dream Team - It takes an array of skills to become the best of the best, whether its on the pitch or in the office, diversity in skills and backgrounds makes for a winning team. 3) 🌟 Pressure and preparation - From job interviews to penalty shootouts, both are nerve wracking but preparation is key. I am sure you have seen the way Pickford prepared for the penalties, the proof is in the pudding that preparation makes all the difference! Preparing for an interview could be the reason you get your dream role. 4) 🌟 Celebrating Success - Whether we are celebrating an England goal or a new hire, celebrating success makes the journey worth it. Through the stress and preparation, celebrating our own or others success brings a strong sense of team spirit. 5) 🌟 Teamwork Makes the Dream Work - In football and business, teamwork is crucial. When everybody plays their part we all win! The recent game has inspired me to bring that winning energy into my personal recruitment strategies. Who knows... maybe our next hire will be the Harry Kane of their industry! 😂 If you are looking for the next top talent for your workplace, give us a call at Berry Recruitment Cornwall on 01872 302822 and we will be happy to help with your recruitment needs. #Recruitment #Football #Euros #Berryrecruitment

The 3 reasons why you SHOULD Lowball offers... If you're a lowballer, expect the following: ✅Engineers talk, and your brand could take a hit. ✅Partnered with an agency? It could harm your relationship, as candidates might think the low offer was the expected salary. ✅If the candidate isn't the right fit, saving money won't help. A bad hire can cost 100x more, and they'll likely reject the offer, wasting everyone's time. In your experience, how important is company culture in influencing a candidate's decision when evaluating job offers?
