🚀 Big progress for Windlift during our latest test flights! We conducted 3 static flights in our highest winds yet and followed up with 2 'tow' tests—towing the APG down the runway to simulate higher wind speeds. Our upgraded aircraft with new pylons performed autonomously, stayed stable across a range of speeds and trims, and dynamically adjusted its flight pattern to dramatic changes in apparent wind direction. These tests provided invaluable data on controls, power output, and tether drag, giving us insights that are already fueling our next round of upgrades to generate even more power. Check out the video for a closer look at the towed test in action! #renewables #sustainability #innovation

Tune in from 6am tomorrow as Luke Harmer & Will Hitchcock, Founder & CEO of Above, discuss all things solar PV, the power of data and drone technology. Above provides solar surveying, data and analytics solutions and is helping asset owners in around 25 countries manage construction, maximise their asset lifespans, increase yield and reduce maintenance costs with their drone hardware and software technology. In this episode you’ll hear a story about how passions for sustainability, efficiency, aeronautics, technology and climate converged at just the right time in Will’s life to make a valuable contribution to the solar power generation industry. We explore the challenges the industry faces in adopting greater diligence and agency in the use of data, the establishment of digital twins, the challenges of co-operating with upstream contributors in the solar supply chain, how the solar supply chain differs from other renewables’ supply chains, and how Above plans to bring Europe’s knowledge and experience in solar power generation to the USA in the future. See you tomorrow 👋🏻 #renewables #dronelife #dronethermography #solarpanel #solarpower #podcast #cleantalk

🌟🚁 At Techstar Western, we're always on the lookout for cutting-edge advancements in green technology. The Cool Down’s recent article by Jeremiah Budin spotlighted an innovative concept of self-cleaning solar panels utilising wind energy, which undoubtedly contributes to the efficiency and longevity of solar installations. https://lnkd.in/e95dZ5ug However, it's crucial to remember that while self-cleaning technology helps maintain the surface cleanliness of solar panels, it doesn't address deeper issues such as damaged cells or other blockages that can affect performance. That's where our drone survey and inspection services come into play! Our drones are equipped with state-of-the-art cameras and sensors, allowing us to conduct thorough inspections of solar arrays with unparalleled precision. By employing drones for periodic inspections, we can identify potential issues early on, ensuring optimal performance and maximising the return on investment for solar projects. With Techstar Western, you can rest assured that your solar infrastructure is in capable hands. Let's continue to harness the power of technology to build a greener, more sustainable future together! 🌞🌱 #TechstarWestern #DroneInspections #GreenTech #SolarPower #DroneSurvey #RenewableEnergy

These Wind Turbines Have No Blades and Are Perfect for Rooftops Aeromine Technologies, Inc.Technologies and it has just won a $9 million funding round to increase the production of its creature. Dubbed #Aeromine, the invention can be installed on the flat roofs of #buildings such as apartment blocks, warehouses, factories, offices, hospitals, shopping centres and so on. Installed in the direction of the main wind, the bladeless wind turbines capture and convert air currents, amplified by their own #aerodynamic units and by the building itself, to generate #electricity on site using a high-efficiency 5 kW permanent magnet rotor and stator. Aeromine turbines have an output of 50 kW, weigh 450 kg and can withstand winds of up to 47 mph, or even close to 62 mph, depending on individual specifications. They can be installed in series of 20 to 40 units and combined with a photovoltaic system. With 400 projects in the pipeline, the company plans to sell its special #windturbines in North America and Europe by 2025. #renewableenergy https://lnkd.in/gJrVrM9p
