It’s a 2-Way Street! I recall the early days years ago as a new broker, excited for anything that represented a lead. Little did I know, the amount of wasted time and energy it took as well as the slow growth. As the years passed, I acquired many skills and continued to refine them through lesson learned the hard way. The old say is true, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. At the same time, if you are new to the industry, hire a coach to fill the gaps in training that you need. I only wished I had done this years early! It would have saved me several gray hairs. Your Tuesday Tip: One of the most defining and crucial skills I learned was screening a potential client prior to accepting them. Yes, it’s a 2-way street! Elements of Alignment to consider: 1-Does their need align with your niche? 2-Do you hold similar business values such as honesty and respect? 3-Do your personalities and style of communicating sync so you can effectively work together? 4-Are they in an area that you’re willing to drive to as needed to effectively market/sell their property? 5-As you say “yes” to opportunities, you are closing the door to others. Choose wisely! The time spent up front will save you immensely on the backside not only in time but your energy and joy in life. You got this!
