Neura Health is proud to announce the launch of The Wonder Woman Collective, a coalition of women’s health companies with proven outcomes and cost savings in the most prevalent and costly specialty categories affecting women: mental health, migraine, multiple sclerosis, hypothyroidism and more. Thank you to Fierce Healthcare and Anastassia Gliadkovskaya for sharing this important step for the future of women’s healthcare. According to McKinsey, addressing the gender health gap will boost our global economy by at least $1 trillion by 2040. This strategic partnership addresses critical gaps in women's healthcare, focusing on improving healthcare outcomes, promoting health equity, reducing costs, and enhancing women's productivity. Given each company’s deep levels of focus in our respective condition categories, we have built product moats addressing the unique needs of patients living with these chronic conditions. We’re thrilled to partner with Paloma Health, LEVY Health, Seven Starling, and Origin. Together we are working to deliver streamlined specialty care for employees, health plan members, and consumers. With a shared commitment to innovation and excellence, this is the start of a foundation where future companies can join and redefine the standard of care in women’s health in a data-driven way.

Our health care system was not designed for the unique care that is specific to women or more prevalent in women. New research from the Center of Health Solutions shows that women will avoid care 35% more often than men. So in a system that was not designed for the care women need, its now creating choices for women. Research shows that this avoidance of care is in areas such as acute illnesses, preventive care, and even women's health issues, to name just a few. Solving for a better care experience for women is the responsibility of every stakeholder, from employers to health plans, providers to investors. Every one can drive change, and working together, can create a system that is more designed for the unique care needs that women have. 🔦 From Disparity to Parity: Tackling Barriers in #womenshealth 🔦 A recent Deloitte report has uncovered a concerning trend in women's healthcare access in the United States. The study, based on a 2024 survey of over 2,000 U.S. consumers, highlights what researchers term a "triple threat" to women's health: 💲 Affordability 🗓 Access challenges 😑 Past negative experiences Key Findings: >50% of women report skipping or delaying medical care >Women are 35% more likely to skip care than men >Long wait times, transportation issues, and lack of convenient appointments are major barriers Cost as a Critical Factor: Women are 31% more likely than men to skip care, including mental health services, due to cost Nearly half of women report being unprepared or only slightly prepared to pay $500 for a medical emergency (up 37% from two years ago) In contrast, only a quarter of men report being unprepared for such emergencies These findings underscore the urgent need for systemic changes to improve healthcare accessibility and affordability for #women. #WomensHealth #HealthEquity #populationhealth #Access https://lnkd.in/dzpKXqJ3

“Women were 35% more likely to say they skipped or avoided care.” That’s a grim statistic for women and for #healthcare. The recent Deloitte survey points to affordability, access and bad experiences as the big culprits. I think exhaustion from complexity is another we can add to the list. Women often manage healthcare for their whole families. By the time they get to their own needs, they’re not interested in engaging with the system anymore. Practices need to consider access and women’s experiences with their providers, but they also need to attack any complexity patients face in trying to manage their care. https://bit.ly/47snqVY

Can We Transform Women’s Healthcare Services? Did you know that Women control 80% of healthcare spending decisions yet they often don’t get the healthcare service they need (Deloitte, 2023)? In our forthcoming article in the Journal of Services Marketing, my co-authors [Deidre Popovich, Kelli Frias, Ph.D., & Mikaela Trussell] and I unpack the risks of exclusionary sub-branding practices that lead to a subordinated service environment, where patients and providers feel they don’t belong. We discuss ways healthcare systems and policymakers can design more supportive environments and support women’s health and well-being. The article was just accepted, so we’ll share more when this article drops! Anderson, K.C., Popovich, D., Frias, K. M., Trussell, M. (in press). A new Deloitte report dives into why women are skipping or delaying medical care, including preventive services, and doing so at a much higher rate than men. #Textmessaging should be playing a greater role in engaging women — and all patients — in their care and decreasing missed and avoided care. One of our recent case studies (accessible here: https://lnkd.in/eQCb8wG9) focused on how a #mammography recall #texting campaign helped a client increase its number of #mammograms performed by 15%. #preventivecare #womenshealth #menshealth

Deloitte research shows that women are 35% more likely than men to say they’ve skipped or delayed medical care due to three key barriers: affordability, access, and prior experiences. By using equitable-based design and including the voice of women in their health needs, industry stakeholders might be able to help address these barriers and contribute to a health care system that bridges the growing gender-equity gap in health care.
