In oncology, the journey can be overwhelming for patients and their families. That’s where case management comes in. It’s not just about coordinating care; it’s about being a compassionate advocate, a trusted resource, and a guiding hand during some of life’s toughest moments. The value this brings to the patient and their loves is shown by improved health outcomes, with lower healthcare costs overall. A true "win-win".
Great piece and couldn’t agree more with Bryony Winn & Elevance Health. At Stellar Health, we’re “all in" for VBC too 👍 "….VBC models also require payers to build infrastructure around payment, showing it incentivizes what we and care providers value most—better and more equitable health outcomes, increased patient and care provider satisfaction, increased access, and more affordable care. It’s why 63% our total medical spend in 2023 was in VBC agreements, and why going forward, we’re all in.” #incentives #valuebasedcare #clinicians #patientcare #healthcarecosts https://lnkd.in/ebVE6Yg3

Value-based care models enable physicians to focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, which ultimately enhances both patient outcomes AND provider satisfaction. The healthcare landscape is evolving, and embracing these models can lead to significant cost savings and improved healthcare quality. Adopting VBC can allow practices to set themselves apart by providing care that's just as high-quality as it is accessible. #VBC #ValueBasedCare #Healthcare #PatientCare

"It's also worth noting where CVS is not investing when it comes to healthcare assets. "We've made strategic choices not to do a lot of things. We're not building hospitals, we're not building ambulatory surgical centers. What we have done is chosen those areas that we believe are important for population health and improving cost, quality and experiences. For that to succeed, you have to create these connected experiences. We believe that that requires interoperability and digital-first experiences." Sree Chaguturu, MD, CVS Health's executive vice president and chief medical officer said Thursday." Interesting to read while knowing others have recently pulled out. Knowing what not to do/invest in is just as important, if not arguably more important, than what to do. Boston College alum Karen S. Lynch has a different recipe than Walmart and Walgreens. Will be interesting to see how CVS Health continues to play. I saw an article recently talking about how many in healthcare were so quick to jump on the failures of Walmart and Walgreens in our space and almost feel validated by it. Healthcare is a mess, and we need different players and diverse, engaged and motivated individuals to help us achieve our goals of making our communities healthier. I hope they can lead by example and show that "non-traditional" healthcare players can contribute to overall population health, just like hospitals and health systems, albeit in different ways. There are enough health issues and challenges to confront, and working together, partnering, collaborating, and supporting other orgs that also want to make an impact, is the way forward. https://lnkd.in/evc_tJc9
