Mental health is crucial to overall well-being and affects how we think, feel, and act. It influences our ability to handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Good mental health fosters resilience, enhances productivity, and contributes to fulfilling relationships. Neglecting mental health can lead to various issues, including anxiety, depression, and other disorders. Promoting mental well-being involves self-care practices, seeking professional help when needed, and fostering supportive environments. By prioritizing mental health, we can improve quality of life for ourselves and those around us. It's essential to break the stigma surrounding mental health discussions and recognize that seeking help is a sign of strength.
It's #WorldMentalHealthDay Mental illness is a public health issue—Everyone deserves access to #MentalHealth services. To effectively address the mental health crisis, we need a public health system that recognizes the social factors that contribute to mental illness and the ways the institutions in our communities can take action.

This post breaks my heart. If I could only tell people how amazing they are, regardless if they had any *stupid* accomplishment in life. (I say this because many put their values in what they have achieved, and sadly not what they have overcome).Everyone is valuable. Everyone was made with a purpose bigger than themselves. -Life doesn’t end when you get fired from a job. -Life doesn’t end when you didn’t pass your grade. -Life doesnt end up when you haven’t accomplished everything you wanted. -Life doesn’t end up when you change your decision or career. -Life doesn’t end up when you aren’t your 100% best persona (the truth is, we keep learning day by day, so we are never our “best” we are our “best” everyday as we keep going through experiences” -Life doesn’t end when your marriage ends -Life doesn’t end up when your parents divorce -Life doesn’t end up when you encounter setbacks -Life doesn’t end up when you feel stuck in one place Men are 3 to 4 times more likely than women to die from Self- Harm (SH) / SID Self-Inflicted Harm (Suicide). This topic is really sensitive and not enough people talk about it. Mental health is still not taken with enough care as it should. The struggle is real. I myself in the past commited SH, I know many people continue to do so. All I can say is that, that isn’t the solution. Fighting is hard, getting up again is hard. Choosing not to give up is hard. Loving when you feel unlovable is hard. Waking up everyday to life is hard. However, I know that is possible. I’ve been sick and discovered the medicine. I know that we have the most help from above, (I’m not religious, rather a believer) when we can’t fight on our own, Jesus is there to fight our unseen battles for us. When I lost my older brother after losing my father, I thought I wouldn’t make it. But Jesus provided such love and grace as I had never felt before. I found strength when the last fiber of my being didn’t want to continue. When I was in a dark, deep place that no one could enter, His light did. His power did. His presence did. His peace did. 75% of Americans want mental health discussions in their checkups, yet 1 in 3 say their doctor never asks. When over half of U.S. households have someone with a mental health diagnosis, this gap is concerning. The solution is clear: making mental health screening as routine as checking blood pressure. #MentalHealth #MentalHealthIsHealth #Healthcare #IntegratedCare https://lnkd.in/eF3dg2Gm

In the past year, 59% of people with Severe Mental Illness in England received a full physical health check – but that leaves 41% who still haven’t. As a VCSE Mental Health organisation, we know this is a step in the right direction, but it's far from enough. Regular health checks are just the beginning. To truly support those living with Severe Mental Illness, we need holistic, person-centered care that addresses both physical and mental health. The work doesn’t stop here – let's push for better, more comprehensive support across the board. Task sharing is a WHO recommended approach to address unmet health needs and improve access to care. Mehac adopts this approach for the treatment of mental health issues within the community. Collaborations take place with multiple stakeholders who are trained to identify signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions. They then forward referrals to specialists so that the concerned receive the interventions they require. Task sharing not only helps us widen our reach but is an effective method to monitor our clients. #communitymentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmodel
