I was in a 1-1 catchup with the head of product of a global startup. He asked me a question," Arjun, why do product managers get paid?". I gave some answers including intersection of x,y and z etc. Then he said, "We are paid because we take decisions. These decisions are backed by our experiences accumulated over the period of time." Looks like a 360* exposure to Product SCM! Throughout my journey so far, I've been running behind MnC's but forgot to acknowledge the real learnings that startups provided.
