I found some interesting things in this report. Not surprising how many BCS Class 2 drugs were approved. Together with the Class 4 they make the vast majority of all drug approvals. Film coated tablets are leading the dosage forms in oral solids - I wonder about the influence of the Ti02 discussions around food in this area. Looking at excipients used there are Microcrystalline Cellulose and Magnesium Stearate in the leading positions looking at capsules and tablets. Direct compression and wet granulation are head to head when it comes to tablet manufacturing processes. The trend of direct compression also in continuous manufacturing might change the picture in the future. #drugapproval #drugdelivery #excipients
