Pieter was my Head of Mining at Sasol Mining I was a shiftboss then. I remember his leadership, influence and love for people. Our paths would cross years later at RMB, as mining& metals dealmaker transactor looking after the Harmony Gold relationship. Mnr Steenkamp, I wish you all of the best, what an absolute privilege it is to witness your transformational leadership in my lifetime. ✨✨

Farewell Peter Steenkamp He was a remarkable person with strong leadership capabilities who has set benchmark for Harmony! I still remember a statement he made upon his first site visit to Hidden Valley when Harmony acquired 100% ownership of the mine. "We are here to stay". That statement gave hope to many employees, the local and the country. From then on Harmony Hidden Valley has triumphed to greater heights! Thanks for your leadership, vision and setting Harmony on the right track going forward. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Legend!

Congratulations! Peter. I will always remember the 4 pages rule when I come to your office to request for a particular budget. Your performance record in an underground mine speaks for itself. You honestly lived the values that are hanging on the walls. Hamba uyophumula mnumzane, you've done your bit. Even today people still remember how you made them feel, from a cleaner to your leadership team.
