🚧 Road Construction Alert 🚧 What? Road construction and traffic pattern change. Where? Eastbound lanes of Miller Road between Saturn Rd. and Edgefield Dr. When? Starting March 11 Why? Contractors will close both eastbound lanes. The westbound lanes will be converted into a two-lane road (one lane going east, one lane going west). This traffic pattern is expected to last about three months. Work will then switch over to the other side. Expect that traffic pattern to last another three months. Please plan accordingly. #GarlandTX

Construction activities are at an all-time high, with numerous road construction projects underway. However, the destruction of national control points like TSM and Trig Beacons without replacement poses a significant threat to future developments such as subdivisions and property relocations. To address this issue effectively, it is crucial for the Surveyor General’s office to enforce a mandate requiring design engineers and contractors to submit applications before removing these national monuments. Additionally, a detailed proposal outlining the replacement process, including the appointed Professional Land Surveyor overseeing the task, should be provided. I started a family and felt like it would be a good opportunity. I liked the fact that it gave me the ability to travel and to meet new people. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 – 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲, 𝗲𝘁𝗰.? There’s so many! But probably just the people and the relationships. There are many who became long-term friends. People from years ago that I still stay in touch with. It’s like a family. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴? This was by chance too. I had always enjoyed putting jobs together and seeing them from start to finish. I had arm surgery, so during the recovery I worked in the office for three months estimating because they needed help. In that time, I landed the job! I went back out for a little bit, but then came back to estimating and have been doing it ever since. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿? Almost 9 months. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿? The culture and the people. I have never worked for a company like this. Management truly cares about their people. They “walk the walk” when others just “talk to the talk.” 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? Definitely time with family and camping. I guess you would call it glamping now that we have an RV. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂? I have an artificial leg. I lost it in a hunting accident when I was 12 years old.
