Apple is testing a new feature in its Find My app, letting users share lost item locations via a link. Now, if you lose an iPhone, MacBook, or AirTag-tagged item, you can share a link with anyone—even those not in your contacts—to help retrieve it. This new option, found in the iOS 18.2 developer beta, allows quick and secure access for someone like a cab driver or airline staff to help locate the item. The link automatically expires within a week or once the item is recovered, and users can even monitor how many times it’s viewed. How hard is it to make a pigeon detection app? Apparently really easy. - Download a pigeon dataset: https://lnkd.in/drETvuug - Load it into Apple's Create ML and train - Download Apple's example project for image classification https://lnkd.in/diuRgFaz - Replace MobileNet with your own model that you trained earlier (this requires a few adaptations here and there) - Implement timer-based video snapshotting That's basically it. Result: see video (it's an iPhone screen recording) Any idea what to do with this, now that it works?
