O-1 Visa: Designed for individuals with extraordinary abilities in fields like the arts, sciences, business, education, or athletics. Requires a U.S. employer or agent sponsorship EB-2 NIW Visa: This visa is geared toward professionals with advanced degrees or individuals with exceptional abilities who can demonstrate that their work benefits the U.S. and is in the national interest. If you have specialized skills, and advanced education, or your work could positively impact the country, the EB-2 NIW may be the right path for you. Shout out to employers who: ✅ Sponsor visas ✅ Invest in training & developing international talent ✅ See diversity as a gift (not a threat) The biggest mistake employers make is thinking: International talent is “lucky” to get visa sponsorship. International talent has standards now. They will quit if exploited, undervalued or underpaid. Sadly, 1000s of internationals are victims to the above. Since their visa is tied to the company, they feel hopeless. In the long run, the employers who win: → do NOT exploit international talent → help international talent thrive in their companies Shout out to Dan Mian who inspired me to post this. ♻️ Repost to share with others. —--------------------------—----------------------- PS. TIP 3️⃣ Wednesday - There is a way to negotiate your visa sponsorship in the UK Many international students, when they hear ‘We do not sponsor visas for candidates’, just reply, ‘Oh, okay.’ And that is what I did back in the day, looking for my first visa-sponsored role. But, it is not always just a ‘no’. Around 50% of my clients who landed visa-sponsored jobs in the UK had to negotiate their visas. I figured out three main stages that are important for effective visa negotiations: 1️⃣ Step - Research: we need the information that we will be using for the negotiation, such as the company’s immigration policies, visa costs and types, salary expectations, how you can stand out in the role, etc 2️⃣ Step - Discuss: we need to effectively present your visa sponsorship case to recruiters and managers, highlighting the value you can bring to the role and organisation. 3️⃣ Step - Finalise: we then summarise relevant information and demonstrate flexibility to land the offer 🤝 Do not be afraid to negotiate; the worst that can happen is that you will hear another ‘no.’ The best - your dream job offer! To help you better prepare for the visa negotiation process, I am running a FREE webinar: 3 Steps to Negotiate Visa Sponsorship in the UK 📆Wednesday, 12 June ⏰18:00, UK time 📍Online stream Register here: https://lnkd.in/gdennv-r See you there!

🚨 "We may or may not sponsor visas" - aka how UK employers ghost international talent. I received another vague reply from a leading UK employer about visa sponsorship: "We do provide sponsorship for some roles, however this isn't always guaranteed depending on open roles at the time." Translation: "We're not telling you if we'll actually sponsor you or not." 🤷🏽♀️ For me, this highlights a bigger issue: Why is it so difficult for international talent to get clear information about sponsorship opportunities in the UK? 💡 Proposal: What if we created a centralised, regularly updated database of graduate roles that offer visa sponsorship? Imagine: ✅ Clear yes/no on sponsorship availability ✅ Current open positions ✅ Sponsorship requirements No more waiting weeks for vague responses. No more guessing games. No more “maybe” answers. Who else thinks UK employers should be required to provide clear, transparent sponsorship info? Drop a YES or No below 👇🏼 #UKJobs #VisaSponsorship #InternationalTalent #weareinternational #internationalstudents

UK visa sponsorship for employers Navigating the nuances of UK work visa sponsorship can be daunting, but it's a cornerstone for securing international talent. Here's a brief overview: Firstly, the employer must hold a valid Sponsor Licence. This involves demonstrating a bona fide business operation, with HR systems ensuring compliance with sponsorship duties. The responsibility doesn't end with obtaining the licence; it's an ongoing commitment to adhere to the stringent UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations. Secondly, the role in question must meet the appropriate skill level. As of now, that's RQF Level 3 or above, indicating A-level equivalent positions or higher. It's not just about academic qualifications, but also relevant experience that fills a gap in the UK job market. Moreover, the salary must align with the 'going rate' for the job, set by the UKVI, ensuring that sponsored employees are paid fairly. This creates a level playing field and prevents undercutting of the local workforce. A candidate's success hinges on acquiring 70 points in the visa application process - a blend of mandatory and tradeable points. English language proficiency and a confirmed job offer from a licensed sponsor are non-negotiable requirements. Are you looking to hire internationally? To keep your company compliant and competitive, re-evaluate your Sponsor Licence strategy and equip yourself with up-to-date knowledge of immigration policies. 💡 O-1 Visa: A Powerful Alternative to the H-1B for Extraordinary Talent 💡 The H-1B visa is a popular pathway for U.S. employers seeking to hire foreign talent. However, with the H-1B lottery system becoming increasingly competitive, many employers and foreign nationals are exploring alternative visa options. 👉 Enter the O-1 Visa 👈 The O-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa category designed for individuals with "extraordinary ability or achievement" in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics. 🤔 Who Qualifies for an O-1 Visa? 🤔 To be eligible for an O-1 visa, individuals must demonstrate that they have achieved sustained national or international acclaim in their field. This can be proven through a variety of evidence, such as: - Awards and recognition - Publications and research - High salary or compensation - Membership in exclusive organizations - Media coverage and critical acclaim 👨🔬 O-1A vs. O-1B 👨🎨 There are two main types of O-1 visas: - O-1A: For individuals with extraordinary ability in the sciences, education, business, or athletics. - O-1B: For individuals with extraordinary achievement in the arts or in the motion picture or television industry. 💼 Benefits of the O-1 Visa 💼 - No Cap: Unlike the H-1B, there is no annual cap on the number of O-1 visas that can be issued. - Dual Intent: Like the H-1B, O-1 visa holders can have the intent to immigrate permanently to the U.S., making it a good option for those seeking a Green Card in the future. 🤝 How Gordon Law Group PC Can Help 🤝 Navigating the O-1 visa process can be complex. Our experienced immigration attorneys can assist you with: - Assessing your eligibility for an O-1 visa - Gathering and preparing the necessary documentation - Filing your O-1 petition with USCIS - Representing you throughout the entire process ➡ Follow our LinkedIn page for regular updates on U.S. immigration law and to learn more about alternative visa options like the O-1. ⬅ #O1 #H1B #Immigration #ExtraordinaryAbility
