I have been following MindUP | The Goldie Hawn Foundation for a few years and LOVE how they are leading proactive educational conversation about mental health and function as factors of BRAIN health and function. Understanding the relationship between... 🧠 the amygdala (the unconscious emotional driver of our nervous system --- that's fully developed at birth)... VS. 🧠 the prefrontal cortex (the conscious regulator of our nervous system that powers comprehension, critical thinking, impulse control, and emotional regulation --- that's not fully developed until our mid-20s)... Is KEY to proactively caring for our mental health, function, and development at every age and stage of life. 💯🧠💜🌈 How are YOU caring for your brain and nervous system? #neurodiversity
We are so excited to share "The Teen Brain," a 10-minute film, produced by our Founder Goldie Hawn and directed by Tiffany Shlain. Goldie’s vision supports understanding the complex teenage brain and its impact on emotions and critical thinking. Dive into insights from experts and teens on the power of this unique developmental stage! 🔗 To watch “The Teen Brain” visit mindup.org/

Patagonia and founder Yvon Chouinard have been a big inspiration for Tucketts selecting the factory to make our socks, which reflects our commitment to the triple bottom line: Profit + People + Planet. Our journey on Amazon has shed light on the prevalence of imitations flooding the market that's literally cheap crap, despite our patent protections. However, we take pride in the longevity and performance of our Tucketts, which continue to outshine their inferior counterparts. Some customers have purchased knockoff versions of our product at a fraction of our price from unauthorized sellers on Amazon, despite our patent protections. They then return to us after just a few pilates classes, noting that their old Tucketts grip socks still perform way better compared to the cheap imitations that don't last more than a month. As a company and as consumers, our choices matter. Every purchase carries an environmental and social footprint to consider, deciding which options have the least impact is crucial. From manufacturing practices to individual buying decisions, we strive to minimize harm to nature while delivering quality products that stand the test of time. Choose wisely, it pays off in the long run! #productlongevity #amazonseller #choicesmatter #choosewisely #lovetucketts
“We have this enormous problem that is threatening the entire world.” Welcome to the age of cheap crap. Our new film The Shitthropocene is a mock anthropological view of humanity’s consumption habits, turning a satirical (yet brutally honest) eye on how everything is turning to shit and why the impulse toward “more” might destroy us all. Are brands Pushers? Dealers? There is a load of crap being produced out there, more than we would ever consume. We have been collectively asking for more, though not as much as they are making and throwing away. If we don't want to be thought of as mindless consumers, we need to be clients. Discerning ones at that. Let's reframe. Connect the Carbon Dots The Carbon Almanac #factsconnectionaction

Quality over quantity. Patagonia has a sense of humor and they’re not afraid to show it. This satirical campaign points out the consequences of modern material excess, compared to human consumption habits since the dawn of our species. Point is, there is only so much planet; only so many usable (uncontaminated) resources we can access. The biggest threat to sustaining humanity for a few thousand more years is the bohemoth leviathan-sized elephant in the room—we produce more waste than the planet can handle, and it’s what we buy that drives the process. Buy better. Buy less. Design better. Make less. Well-made, well-designed goods cost more for a reason—they last longer, work better, save you time, energy, and effort, and chances are, they’re actually better, and healthier for you. The catch—even tho the best rarely costs less, there’s still a ton of expensive shit out there that never deserves to have been made. Consume wisely, my friends. Earth day is every day.

a must watch maybe to be read together with Oliver Franklin-Wallis #Wasteland including these numbers in his book: the average UK person generates 1.1 kg of waste every day (!), the average US person 2 kg of #waste every day.... and the solid waste industry contributes 5 per cent of all global #greenhousegas emissions, and this does not include #food waste, estimated to contribute between 8-10 % alone of total #emissions!

"Behavior is shaped by the structure of the system. If we want better #behavior, we need to change the structure" Donella already pinpointed it back in 1972, way before the "shitthropocene". And as May is the #overshoot day for many countries, I consider this a recommended 45 mins expenditure for the weekend A fun-factual #documentary on how the structure of the current system has shaped our over #consumption, and how structural change is difficult (but doable) due to the complexity and interdependence of this very system And although it has a bias towards fashion industry (not thanks to Patagonia), it applies perfectly to any other industry these days https://lnkd.in/eypU-3zm
