My first six months at UF Health have flown by and have been incredibly rewarding. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know some of the organization's outstanding leaders and placing exceptional candidates who I know will make an impact. As I anticipated, it’s far more fulfilling to represent an organization I am fully part of, rather than navigating the varied nature of working with multiple clients. Building long-term relationships with both candidates and colleagues makes this role particularly meaningful.
Before joining UF Health, I spent 23 years as the Sole Proprietor of an executive search firm. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted my business, I sought new ways to bring value to clients and candidates, which led me to launch a podcast featuring successful healthcare executives sharing their experiences
and insights.
In my research, I discovered Chris Van Gorder, MPA, FACHE, President & CEO of Scripps Health. His book, The Front Line Leader: Building a High-Performance Organization from the Ground Up, resonated with me. After reading the book and, taking a chance, I reached out to him and was thrilled when he agreed to speak with me. Our conversation, captured in the video, felt like reconnecting with an old friend. He is a natural storyteller and he has a lot of stories to tell.
Since starting at UF Health, I’ve paused the podcast to focus on my new role and immerse myself in the organization. However, I’ve decided to share the episodes on my LinkedIn profile—both as a gesture of thanks to the remarkable leaders who generously shared their time and to offer valuable insights I believe healthcare professionals will find enriching.
