I have just completed the Introduction to Responsible Data Management course organized by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Here are some key takeaways: * A comprehensive overview of the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and other essential laws governing data management practices. * Insights into the roles and responsibilities of Data Controllers and Data Processors, and their approaches to data handling across different organizations. * Knowledge about individuals' data rights, including the right to access, rectify, and request deletion of their personal data. * Best practices for collecting only the necessary data and ensuring data processing is limited to essential purposes. * Fundamental strategies for safeguarding data against unauthorized access, breaches, and misuse. *The importance of transparency and accountability in organizational data practices to maintain trust with data subjects. I am grateful to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission for this valuable course and look forward to the next phase: Managing Change: Implementing Responsible Data.
