💡 The Heart of AWS re:Invent: Making an Impact Beyond Tech 💡 One of the most meaningful aspects of AWS re:Invent is seeing how technology intersects with purpose. During my visit to the Non-Profit section at the Expo, I was deeply inspired by the incredible organizations present—championing causes like fighting youth homelessness, raising awareness about men’s mental health, and so much more. It’s also amazing to see the many vibrant communities represented here, from Women in Tech to the Developer and Grant communities, all working together to create a more inclusive and supportive tech ecosystem. Beyond that, the emphasis on sustainability really stood out. From the Sustainability Pavilion showcasing innovations for a greener future to initiatives like Hydrate & Help, donating unused swag, and tackling food waste, it’s clear that re:Invent is about building not just better systems, but a better world. This event reminds us that technology has the power to solve real-world problems, and it’s up to us to channel our skills and resources toward meaningful change. Have you visited these sections or participated in any of these initiatives? Let’s celebrate the impact we can make together! #AWSreInvent #TechForGood #NonProfit #Sustainability #BuildingABetterWorld

I am not in to tech. 🤖 Full stop. I have reluctantly been corralled in to using LastPass. I have grudgingly begun to use MetaBusiness Suite. I have cursed while figuring out how to simultaneously run 4 email addresses. But am I "into" tech? Heck no. This relationship feels necessary at best, and abusive at its worst. And likely there are MANY of you like me - wishing they could just do "people" stuff vs handling the tech. But friends who are leading in nonprofit, don't take you hands off the wheel. Your staff needs you to care about the tech (even if its just a little bit). So if you are like me, not in to tech but somehow HAVING to engage with tech, hang out with me and Tim Lockie this coming Wednesday. Tim has created a session that not only gets to the psychology of why tech fails in nonprofits but also HOW you as a leader can improve chances for success. How can non-profits better leverage technology? 🗯️ We are so honored to be an Okta for Good grantee, getting to work closely with Fast Forward and its portfolio organizations. We were excited to hear it announced a new $50m commitment to help support non-profits and the social sector. https://lnkd.in/gwi7wZwx This is desperately needed because: - non profits are the second most cyber-attacked sector after governments - the risk of threat has exploded in the age of AI - most non profits can feel they don’t have the resources to protect themselves - in fact 65% of them lack confidence in their own security - non profits building technology interventions need support to design usable and impactful tools to achieve their mission We partner with organizations to help them design tech for good — addressing power imbalances, increasing people’s safety, resilience and agency — and we can’t wait to tell you more about what we’ve been enabled to deliver with our own Okta grant.
