🤖 The AI Era is Here: Reflections from AWS re:Invent 🤖 Attending AWS re:Invent—a cloud event bringing together over 65,000 cloud enthusiasts—has been an unforgettable experience. It’s amazing to think that the cloud didn’t even exist 20 years ago, and now it’s opened up countless job opportunities and transformed the way we live and work. This year, the spotlight is on AI, and the new features and services announced during the keynotes, sessions, and expos are absolutely mind-blowing. Some people are comparing this moment to when the internet first launched, while others say it’s even bigger—like the industrial revolution, completely changing how we work. One example that stood out is Amazon Q, which is revolutionizing the way IT teams and developers work. From generating unit tests, documentation, and performing code reviews to transforming .NET apps from Windows to Linux or VMware workloads into cloud-native architecture—tasks that once took weeks can now be done in mere hours. It’s both exciting and humbling to witness the power AI brings to innovation. In my discussions at re:Invent, I noticed a mix of reactions. Some are super excited about what AI can do, while others feel worried about how powerful it’s becoming and how it might disrupt jobs. Personally, I am fascinated by AI and excited about the future. While it’s true that AI may replace certain jobs, it’s equally true that it will create new opportunities. We’re already seeing roles like prompt engineering emerging, and as engineers, we have the skills to adapt and learn quickly. Finally, for my French-speaking friends, check out this series of videos my colleagues at SKALE-5 put together summarizing the highlights of re:Invent and the keynotes: https://shorturl.at/O9IFR What are your thoughts on AI? Are you excited, concerned, or a bit of both? Let’s discuss! #AWSreInvent #ArtificialIntelligence #AmazonQ #CloudComputing #FutureOfWork #Innovation
