We are happy to announce that we will be participating in Rio Oil & Gas 2024! At this prestigious event, we will be presenting our work: "Multiscale analysis of carbonate rocks for the digital rock platform GeoSlicer - An open source plugin". The oil and gas industry continually invests in multiscale data acquisition to enhance geological models and optimize production. Our work addresses the challenge of integrating data from various scales, particularly in heterogeneous carbonate rocks found in pre-salt reservoirs. Using advanced geostatistical and machine learning methods such as Multiple Points Statistics (MPS), Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN), and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), we're testing methods like Direct Sampling, GANSim-3D, and PixelCNN to combine borehole and core data into a unified synthetic model. This work is integrated with GeoSlicer platform, which is an open-source AI platform for digital rock physics. I am pleased to share our recent research presented at the first Interpor Iran conference, where we investigated how AI-based models can predict CO2 storage capacity in underground reservoirs with considerable accuracy. By combining convolutional neural networks (CNN) and the Eclipse 300 simulator, we can now more effectively simulate CO2 movement and CO2 trapping mechanisms in saltwater aquifers.https://lnkd.in/dwxW3F4X Key points: 🔹 High permeability and porosity significantly increase the CO2 storage potential. 🔹 CNN model achieved significant prediction accuracy (R² = 0.98) in simulating storage scenarios. Our AI-based approach enhances reservoir management to mitigate climate change. I am look forward to the continued development of this exciting intersection of geoscience and artificial intelligence to support long-term carbon sequestration efforts.
