The news of a 1.5 Billion expansion of Dubai certainly created some buzz but what does it mean? The Mall already the most visited place on earth (105 million single visitors per year) is soon to become even more popular and prices are expected to keep climbing. At the base of it is simple supply and demand, with over 200k targeted to move here per year but as Downtown Dubai takes shape the land becomes more valuable. Premium launches like Mercedes and Baccarat will only add to that. Essentially, invest in Downtown Dubai while you still can 😂

The Dubai Mall set a record number of visitors in 2023, becoming the most visited place on Earth according to Arabian Business. In 2023, the mall was visited by 105 million people, which is a 19% increase compared to the previous year. And in just the first two months of 2024, more than 20 million visitors were counted. Due to the increase in the number of visitors, sales have also increased, positively affecting the retail sector. Interesting figures for the luxury sector from Henley & Partners - The Firm of Global Citizens® in its rankings of departing millionaires. China and the UK top the lists, while the the UAE is the top incoming destination, followed by the US and Singapore. It is an intriguing shift for the UK, but unsurprising as the UAE, US and Singapore continue to develop. These are not shoppers who will immediately change the retail habits in these locations, as their outlook is clearly international, but it is a reminder that the shoppers in any store of any country can be a truly international demographic - so service and offer must be tailored accordingly. #luxury #wealth #China
