While experimenting with generative AI in the early days, this was an enjoyable and fulfilling project that started in February 2023 when I asked Dall-E for images of pears decorated like Easter eggs. I then used those images to show an illustrator along with the concept to design stickers for kids to decorate egg shaped Anjou pears. So, I used Dall-E as an accessory in the development, but certainly not to replace a creative or put a designer out of work. Fun, satisfying and fulfilling project using a new tool for idea conception and moving it through the development stages and implementation.
We're excited to share a new way to decorate for Easter this year! https://lnkd.in/eEmq5R3s

As we honor our heroes this Memorial Day, let’s also honor our wallets with some savvy spending! Here are a few tips to help you save big this weekend: 💰 Shop Sales Smartly: Look for sales on items you need, not just what’s on sale. Stick to a list to avoid impulse buys. 💰 Cook at Home: BBQs and picnics are a great way to enjoy the holiday without the high cost of dining out. Plus, it’s fun to grill with friends and family! 💰 DIY Decorations: Get crafty and make your own patriotic decor. It’s cheaper and adds a personal touch to your celebrations. 💰 Free Activities: Check out local events, parks, and memorial services. Many communities offer free or low-cost activities. 💰 Travel Wisely: If you’re hitting the road, pack snacks and plan your route to save on gas and avoid tolls. Enjoy the long weekend, honor our heroes, and save some cash! 🇺🇸💪

One final “Christmas In July” post for churches… Christmas is a time when many of even the most forward-thinking people lean towards “old fashioned” traditions, music, decorations, and even food. It’s a normal human reaction to look back and remember meaningful times, places, events, and people. Long story short, don’t worry about going out of your way to be “innovative” this Christmas. I learned that one the hard way. One year, we had had enough of trying to make what we considered to be the “old guard” happy. We were going to do something different, by golly, so we came up with a look based on snow white modernistic vaguely-Christmas-tree-shaped decor pieces and created a striking set (and even custom ornaments based on the look). It was new. It was cool. It was different. It failed. People didn’t storm out, but it was clearly the least-liked set that we had created in my decade at the church. It wasn’t just old people, either - they were actually kinder with their comments than some of the younger ones. What happened? We had messed with something that people -regardless of age - didn’t want messed with. So don’t make my mistake. Invest time and effort to make Christmas services excellent, and use your creativity - while remembering that sometimes it makes more sense to paint within the frame you're given.
