One person with standard wrenches is able to open and close even the largest quick opening closure in total safety, thanks to the Pressure Warning Device supplied together with the QOC, which advise the operator about the pressure inside the equipment. Proper Design Can Prevent Fires in Refineries and Oil Plants Proper design and arrangement of equipment in processing units, storage areas, and loading/unloading areas can prevent potential hazards from resulting in fires. Design should be consistent with accepted industry codes and supplemented with good engineering practices by personnel having a knowledge of equipment service and its potential hazards. Key aspects of the design should include construction materials, mechanical design and equipment construction, and the process control system. All potential unwanted conditions should be consider in equipment and system design. Also HAZOP should be done before design and equipment selection... Some unwanted conditions can lead to fires or explosions in refineries.
