I have started the new year with new resolutions, both personally and professionally, as surely many of you have. One topic that I believe should be more than just a good intention, especially for global technology companies like Voith, is the topic of #transformation! Last year was full of challenges and geopolitical crises. The global #economy has recorded historically low growth rates, particularly in Europe. Additionally, Germany had to deal with high energy prices, bureaucracy, and a backlog of reforms. Despite all this, the last fiscal year developed satisfactorily for #Voith – thanks to the good work and great commitment of all my colleagues worldwide. This is not a given for me, especially in these turbulent times. How did we achieve this, and why am I still optimistic about the future? Because we are not waiting for better times, but we focus on a continuous and targeted transformation of Voith towards a #sustainable technology company. Decarbonizing the industry is not just a trend, but a necessity – and it’s our business model to develop sustainable technologies for our valued customers.

Today we reported our financial figures. Numerous records were set during fiscal year #2023. We achieved the highest figures ever for sales and operating profit. Freudenberg Group invested €603.6 million (previous year: €576.8 million) in #research and #development activities. To measure the success we evaluate the effectiveness of its research and development activities based on the share of new products (less than four years old) out of total sales. This month, Voith celebrates the 60th anniversary of its Brazilian headquarters. This milestone invites us to look back with pride at the numerous achievements and many challenges we have overcome to reach this point. Freudenberg looks back on a record breaking 2023. Outstanding achievements include: ✅ Operating profit surpasses €1 billion for the first time ✅ Highest figures ever for sales, at €11.9 billion  ✅ Highest-event investment levels in R&D up 4.6 percent, reaching €604 million Freudenberg Group CEO, Mohsen Sohi: "When we look back over the past 10 years, it becomes clear how impressive these figures are. Within a single decade, we have roughly doubled our sales and operating profit with an average annual growth rate of 6 and 7.7 percent, respectively.
