Farmers represent the greatest force of good in the fight against climate change. Not only can farmers utilize agrivoltaics to directly contribute to the clean energy transition, they can also use no tilling to directly sequestere carbon! Effectively, farmers can be the group that decreases future emissions while absorbing the old emissions...ALL WHILE GETTING FINANCIAL AND YIELD BENEFITS. I simply ask this...why are we not doing this at scale!? https://lnkd.in/eyxkbdJz

The Financial Times recently called into question the climate benefits of soil carbon sequestration. The premise of the article is true: soil carbon removals are complex. But what climate mitigation tactic isn't? And does complexity mean we shouldn't do it? We believe the #agriculture and #climate industries are smarter than that. At Regrow, we know soil carbon sequestration has significant potential, not only in climate mitigation but in building #biodiversity and enhancing our water supply. In fact, #SOC is already making a traceable impact on our #foodsystem. And we have the science to show for it. ⬇️ Learn more in our response to Financial Times ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/ghWMQwBA #AgricultureResilience #ClimateAction #FutureofFood #sustainability

Our response to recent criticisms of soil carbon’s role in climate adaptation. But I want to highlight this post for another reason. I have always been uncomfortable with the norms in corporate communications where the comms team rarely gets acknowledgement of their contributions to company thought leadership (looking at you, C-Suite). My comms colleagues would always explain to me that this is just how corporate communications works, but the sound of their voices indicated they wished it weren’t this way. When I came to Regrow I wanted to change this, at least in our world. I made my case to leadership and Anastasia Volkova, PhD said we would work this out. Now we have published our first content where my wonderful comms colleague Elleni Paulson is properly recognized for her work. Her partnership makes my words and ideas better and the contributions of our communications team is critical to our message of building a resilient agriculture system. I hope more of us can normalize giving credit where it is due. #soilcarbon #resilience #agriculture #climatechange #communications #teamwork

🌱 America’s farmers and ranchers are leading the charge against climate change! According to the EPA, their efforts led to a nearly 2% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 2021 to 2022, the largest decrease among all sectors. Kudos to our ag community for their commitment to sustainability! 🚜 Read here: https://bit.ly/3yIz4Pq Learn more about Agoro Carbon's farmers and ranchers across the US who are making practice changes that store carbon in the soil and bring a new revenue stream to their operation. Committing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is easy; figuring out how to meet your commitment is a good deal harder. That’s what General Mills learned after it decided to create a Climate Transition Action Plan (CTAP), a formal list of the actions the company will take to meet its promise to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 30% (from 2020 levels) by 2030.

Great to see this video piece last night on Euronews covering progress to date on Farm Zero C. We were happy to welcome the team to West Cork to showcase the project and the journalists themselves welcomed the opportunty to focus on a positive climate story. Their report on the climate data from the last month across Europe, which precedes the Farm Zero C piece in the video below, is a reminder of the urgency of developing scientific solutions that will help farmers to manage changing weather patterns, and provide a stable future and way forward for the sector. #farmzeroc #sustainability #sustainableagriculture BiOrbic, Bioeconomy SFI Research Centre https://lnkd.in/eVQvk6pB
