I've watched dreams crumble. Startups bleed time and money chasing PR myths that leave even brilliant ideas dead in the water. Let's change the narrative in 3 minutes. Myth #1: PR is all about press releases. Press releases are a tool, not a strategy. It's about building relationships and crafting narratives that resonate. Myth #2: Any press is good press. Negative or off-brand coverage can be worse than nothing. Target the right audience. Myth #3: You need a huge budget. Creativity and hustle can outweigh dollars. Focus on authentic storytelling. Myth #4: PR is magic, results will be instant. It's a long game. Build trust and authority over time. Myth #5: You can fake it until you make it. Transparency is king. Be genuine, even about struggles. People root for authenticity. Myth #6: PR is only for huge wins. Highlight milestones, partnerships, and even lessons learned; it all builds reputation. Myth #7: DIY PR is always the answer. Time is your most valuable asset. Strategically outsource when it makes sense. Years ago, a client was close to their first major feature.
