Every puddle could contain that alloy busting crunch. On average local business people estimated [Source: #KMOnline] its costing each and every car driver c.£900 to c.£2000. In my case about £1,800 and the Kent County Council refuse to accept the vast majority of claims. 🤬😡😤 18,000+ Potholes here in Kent enough to fill the Royal Albert Hall 4 times over. Plus a record 16k Road Closures as Utility Companies try to keep up with Developments. The County Highway Authority now says it needs c£750M to bring the roads up to the (minimum) standard that we want. Why? A Policy of ‘Managed Decline’ and a decade of under funding KCC are broke running on the vapour at the bottom of their tressury barrel. Section 114 looms ‼️ Grahame [Views My Own. Wednesday wisdom - Potholes are everywhere! We all probably know a local road that we are cautious of and know how to manoeuvre around these hazards. However, Winter is coming, dark nights are here and it's not so easy to remember where they all are and when you hit one at 30mph - you know about it! If you hit it at a higher speed then ensure you have a good local mechanic on hand as these are costing drivers millions! I was driving to Milton Keynes on Friday (160 miles each way) and what was shocking was how many services (as you are leaving them) have these hazards too! Just another sign of the mess that the Country is in and this picture (although funny) does say it all when it comes how the Councils, the Highways agency and the Government spend our money! Rant over!
