Three things food and agricultural policy makers in the European Union should do now: ✅ Give priority to soil health, water, landscape and biodiversity Policy instruments should focus on facilitating a wider uptake of practices that improve ➡️ soil health and quality ➡️ water conservation ➡️ landscape ➡️ biodiversity These practices will enhance the climate change resilience of farming systems. ✅✅ Use the good things in the current Common Agricultural Policy to help the transition. Countries should use the possibilities in the current CAP to design interventions giving an incentive to farmers to take up those practices that have proven to increase resilience to the specific climate risks affecting their region. This type of targeted support is especially needed to help farmers with up-front investment needed to transition to new agricultural methods. . ✅✅✅ Provide specific knowledge The positive effect of agricultural practices depends on a wide variety of factors and is context-specific. Farmers may lack knowledge regarding the suitability of such agricultural practices and how to apply them in their soil and climate types. Member States need to support farmers in designing tailored plans for improving sustainability and resilience. They should invest in advisory services just doing that. Knowledge-sharing platforms and workshops may help to facilitate farmer-to-farmer transfer of know-how

With the agriculture sector facing climate change, Canadian farmer Clinton Monchuk approaches farming with science-based decision making. 👨🏻🌾 🔬 For example, he’s adopted technology that prevents grain waste in storage bins, uses a machine that only sprays the right amount herbicide on his fields, and uses a direct seeding system, which cuts back on diesel fuel. See how farmers like Clinton are growing a better future: https://ow.ly/Vw2a50SMjMh #TasteTheCommitment

Severe warming scenarios predict a potential decline in global yields of staple crops like corn, rice, wheat, and soybeans by 11-25% by 2100. This highlights the urgent need to address how farming methods can both harm and help our environment. While agriculture pollution exacerbates the vulnerability of our farms to climate change, leading to significant crop losses and threats to our food security, there's hope. ➡️Sustainable farming practices can mitigate these detrimental effects. Between 1990 and 2021, GHG emissions from the agriculture sector grew by 39%, mostly due to crop production. The agriculture sector can play a key role in mitigating climate change through agricultural management practices that reduce GHGs and remove CO2 from the atmosphere. What the global agriculture system will look like in the future will depend on what we do today. There is a potential for even more negative outcomes if we do not help farmers adapt to climate change. So we have come up with an innovative solutions. Rada 360 provides innovative satellite-based solutions to help farmers monitor their crops and access accurate weather forecasts. Our platform delivers 16-day weather predictions, empowering farmers to plan and take precautionary measures effectively. It offers detailed insights into precipitation, temperature, humidity, and wind conditions, enabling farmers to anticipate rainfall and adapt accordingly. For instance, a farmer can know the expected rainfall for tomorrow or upcoming days and prepare in advance. By integrating advanced technology with practical farming needs, Rada 360 ensures that farmers make informed decisions, optimize their operations, and minimize risks associated with unpredictable weather conditions. So it's your time as a farmer to contact us and we will help you to overcome this problem of climate change in order to improve your agricultural productivity. visit our website https://rada360ltd.com/ Contact us [email protected] Whatsap +25567335721 #Rada #Satellite #Imagery #FAO #ClimateAdaptability #ClimateChange #WFP #foodsecurity #climateresilence #IPCC #ACF
