I am most excited about the attendance of a change maker at this ongoing conference, Raman Toromade , and I am most certain that the outcome of this conference will resonate across all nations on the globe. This conference comes at a crucial moment for our planet. As we face unprecedented challenges from climate change, it's clear that land restoration and effective land management must be at the center of our collective response. Saudi Arabia, a country deeply impacted by desertification, is taking bold steps to address these issues and set an example for the rest of the world. COP16 is not just a gathering, but rather it's a call to action. 📌 One COP has ended, and the next has begun. This year’s UNCCD #COP16 kicked off in Riyadh on December 2, with the theme “Our Land. Our Future”. This session focuses on some of the most urgent environmental challenges we face today: land degradation, desertification, and drought. 🌳 One of the most ambitious solutions to these challenges is the Great Green Wall (GGW), a project aimed at creating an 8,000-kilometer green belt across Africa’s Sahel region. When completed, the GGW will be the largest living structure on Earth – 3X the size of the Great Barrier Reef!
