In retail, there’s always something that needs to be done. The pressure is intense—long hours, endless to-do lists, stocking challenges, and of course, staffing issues. My retail background means I’ve always felt the need to stay busy, but I’m learning that sometimes the best work comes from slowing down and focusing on what truly matters—like hiring quality candidates who fit the team and mission. Can you tell workplace culture by the observable environment? To some degree - yes. During my brief but impactful time in the #fmcg world immersed in the talent development, many stores were visited.
