Google Ads will begin phasing out enhanced CPC in October with the goal of transitioning all remaining campaigns to manual CPC by March 2025. The Enhanced CPC is the most light touch of automated bid strategies, so it allowed you to dip your toe into automated bidding without giving Google full control by just working toward a conversion target. Google is taking that away. If you haven’t started testing which fully automated bid strategies work for your campaigns, now is the time (like Maximize conversions (with optional target CPA) and Maximize conversion value (with optional target ROAS)). This change will impact how you manage your Search and Display campaigns. Google Ads is phasing out Enhanced CPC, with plans to transition all campaigns to Manual CPC by March 2025. Why does this matter? Enhanced CPC was a flexible, low-commitment option for automated bidding, letting advertisers aim for conversions without handing over full control to Google. With eCPC on its way out, now is the time to start testing fully automated bidding strategies to optimize campaign performance in the new setup. This shift will significantly impact how Search and Display campaigns are managed. Me: A do Google Ads! Also me: trying to explain to my client why a Google Ads campaign might not be their best friend right now According to WordStream (source in the 1st comment), the average CPC (cost-per-click) for Google Ads across all industries is $2.69 on the search network and $0.63 on the display network. The average CVR for Google Ads in the e-commerce is 2.81% for search and 0.59% for display. We really need to accept that 10cent-per-click-days and $100-budgets-per-month are gone. #GoogleAdsStrategy #PPCMarketing #EcommerceConversions #MarketingROI
