⚠️ PSA: Watch out for red flags when recruiting new creators. ⚠️ No amount of strategy and planning can make up for recruiting the wrong creators to your program. Here are a few things to look out for. 👇 🚩 Too many paid collabs If every other post is sponsored, you're not partnering with a creator—you're partnering with a salesperson. Look for creators who are selective about their promotions. The sponsored content they do have should feel organic and true to their brand. 🚩 Fake followers and engagement The creator's numbers are good. But are they too good to be true? Sadly, this is something we always have to be on the lookout for. 🚩 Low-quality content The content doesn't have to be perfectly polished—it just has to work. Check for genuine engagement and a unique style that makes the creator stand out in some way. 🚩 Negative sentiment in comments Not all engagement is created equal. Head to the comments and make sure your prospect's engagement is positive. You don't want to partner with someone who gets attention for the wrong reasons. 📹 There are more than 45 million professional content creators in the creator economy ... Oh, and I'm one of them. But here's a question: What happens when a creator with a dedicated audience and niche decides to promote products or services that aren't relevant or valuable to their followers? While the strategy of small or medium businesses aims to reach new target groups, it's important to prioritize authenticity and uphold values. This is why these people follow you - you bring value to their lives. ✍️ Insightful article by Forbes on the power and approach of the Creator Economy.

The top earning creators averaged 8 figures of revenue last year 👀 . 🔑 There's one key thing they all employ. All of them have at least 3 different forms of revenue streams (3.38 to be exact). This means they went beyond native monetization of their platforms and brand sponsorships 🤑. These revenue streams come in a variety of forms. They can be anything from paid community, to courses, even selling physical products (see Mr. Beast's Feastables). At the heart of it, these creators truly understand their personal brand, the audience they are serving, and have constructed relevant and meaningful offers that their fans and admirers love 💞 . For every successful creator-led product or service, there are dozens of failures that aren't talked about. I blame that on survivorship bias, but that's a topic for another day. The bottom line is, it's not as simple as just creating an offer and flipping a switch. Like all things business and marketing, it has to resonate with your audience. I've been working with a number of creators recently to help them understand their brand and construct meaningful offers for their audience. They then leverage the power of a platform like MAGNETIQ, Inc. to quickly and easily create a digital home for their offer along with a buy button, all with a few simple clicks 💪 . The brands of tomorrow are the creators of today. If you know any creators looking to grow and expand their business, please reach out. We're here to help them be successful. P.S. Shout out to Youtuber Modern Millie for this great research on revenue streams. Source video will be posted in the comments.

Digital creators are changing the media landscape. According to Linktree's 2022 Creator Report, there are more than 200 mln content creators worldwide. Thanks to online platforms, anyone can create and share content on topics ranging from fashion to gaming. This has opened up new opportunities for niche interests. Unlike traditional media, digital creators interact directly with their audience through comments and live streams, creating a two-way communication channel. This interaction builds a stronger community feel. The growth of digital creators has been fueled by easy internet access and the rise of platforms like YouTube and Instagram. These tools have made it easier for creators to share their work and connect with others. Now, businesses are also seeing the value in partnering with digital creators to reach more people. Our latest article explores how digital creators are making an impact and how they can earn from their work. #digitalcreators #creatoreconomy #contentcreation https://lnkd.in/dekDvyGh

As a creator who gets paid to work with brands, here's when I'll accept gifted product: 1. Its a product I already use and spend money on 2. Its a product I've been wanting to try out / new drop from a brand I <3 3. I can organically & authentically integrate the product into my content 4. There is either no ask or little ask 5. It would be valuable to share with my followers / something their interested in So, here's what brands / marketers can take away: 1. Reach out to creators already using your product (even if they are smaller) 2. Reach out to creators who use a competitors product 3. Reach out to creators who post similar content that aligns w/ your brand 4. Research creators' audiences, comment section, content, etc., 5. Do not ask a creator for 3 stories, 1 reel, and 1 static post for your $15 product If its taking you significant time to do 1-4, shoot me a message and I'm happy to share how other brands are getting it done. #creatorsearch #influencermarketing #productseeding

I so often see content creators getting frustrated with the size and growth of their audiences as it relates to other people. I’ve been there myself. For starters. It’s a waste of time to compare yourself to other people - You realistically don’t know anything about them beyond what they post. But practically speaking - 1,000 people, 2,000 people, or 500 people - whatever it is - is a lot of people. If you sold 10 people a course that costs $1,000 per month - that’s $10K per month. The reason most people online aren’t making money isn’t because they haven’t gone viral yet or because they don’t have enough followers - it’s because they don’t understand their audience and in turn they don’t understand content. Or rather they don’t understand how to properly create content to monetize their audience. Just because you think it’s cool, doesn’t mean your audience will too. If your doing it right, monetization revenue from the platforms is just Gravy. It’s not what drives your strategy. There are many ways to make money online - And I would argue monetization split from the platforms is becoming an outdated concept. I think most platforms are going to remove monetization programs within the next 5-10 years - Or at least contract eligibility requirements to make it so only the top 1% can even qualify. Because there is a tipping point - Although it’s highly profitable for social media giants in the short term or on a recurring annual basis - long term it dilutes the authenticity of their platform. They know this. They need to figure out a way to pay creators for engagement that isn’t necessarily correlated to views or audience size. That’s the long term vision for it. It’s just very difficult to get there considering the dynamics of how these platforms function now. It’s embedded into people’s association with content and you can argue it dictates what they post.

Death to Aggregators! Seriously, this is huge news for #ContentCreators who are tired of getting their creative content ripped-off by larger aggregator accounts. Moreover, it will impact all brand accounts dependent on farmed User-Generated Content (UGC) to populate their feeds. My guess is that their reach will decline sharply over the next few months unless they are willing to develop custom creative for their channels. Fun fact, Global Adventure Media & Katie And Joe On The Go can help you in your content creation needs. Automotive, outdoors, CPG, we're here to help. Let's chat. Although the creator community has numerous Instagram updates (i.e. follower reach) being on their wish list, this one stands out as a game-changer. Here's a recap of what's about to happen on Instagram: ✔️ A new input to ranking that will give smaller creators more distribution. ✔️Replacing reposts with original content in recommendations. ✔️Adding labels to reposted content, linking to the original creator. ✔️Removing content aggregators from recommendations Read more here:

Are you a serious content creator on LinkedIn but struggling to get traction? It might be time to get a Patreon account to find your One True fans. No, this post is not sponsored and I still believe you should own your own distribution channels but Patreon could be part of your strategy. Ken Newton recently directed me to have a look at SXSW 2024 Keynote from Jack Conte. I was thoroughly impressed and can see the passion and clear mission that drives him. I'll link the video in the comments to stop LinkedIn killing the reach on this post. Quick summary of what Jack talked about: 🎯 Evolution of the Internet and the birth of the creator economy: Jack discussed the transformation of the internet from Web 1.0, a static version of the web, to Web 2.0, which enabled people to create, upload, and share content easily. This transition empowered artists and creators, allowing them to reach audiences and build followings through platforms like YouTube. 🎯 His personal journey and the impact of Web 2.0: From struggling to reach an audience with his music to leveraging the power of YouTube and social media to build a fanbase and sell music directly to listeners, highlighting the significance of the "follower" in the digital age. 🎯 Challenges Faced by Creators in the Modern Web: He addressed the challenges creators face due to changes in social media algorithms, which prioritize platform revenue over content visibility, making it harder for creators to connect with their audience. 🎯 Future of Creativity and the Creator Economy: Looking forward, he discussed the emergence of new platforms and tools designed to support creators, such as Patreon, which he co-founded. These platforms aim to facilitate direct connections and transactions between creators and their fans, moving beyond the limitations of traditional social media. 🎯 Core Advice for Creators: Conte concluded with advice for creators, emphasizing the importance of staying true to one's passion and purpose in the face of industry changes and challenges. He encouraged creators to focus on making meaningful work that resonates with them and their audience, regardless of the evolving digital landscape. After watching his keynote I believe in his passion for looking after creators. I hope that he is able to achieve his vision and mission and I think if you are a serious content creator having a Patreon can only be a plus. Happy Weekend everyone! #SaturdayMonsterChallenge with Alexander Esau

The best creators are known for something. And to be known for something, you have to niche down. But when you niche down for long enough, it can be hard to come up with new ways of talking about the same thing. So how do you continue to create content and build an audience around topics that are going to move the needle for you? You go to your current audience. And you answer their questions. Because when you answer the questions from your audience, they tell other people about it. And then those people follow you. and if you keep answering questions, they’ll do the same thing. But how do you know which questions to answer? (Shout out to Jeff Hatten 🎉 for the question -- go follow him if you don't already) First, if you have so many questions that you don’t know what to address first, bravo. You don’t need my help. But, if by some miracle that your biggest problem, it’s simple. Because your audience will tell you which to answer first by how they engage. 1. Stack rank the comments by most engagement. 2. Find the ones that are questions. 3. Determine which ones you can address immediately. 4. Start creating. If there are any that you can provide real life stories or data on, prioritize those. And just move on down the list. But if you’re like most people, you don’t have a limitless amount of engagement to draw from. So if that’s where you’re at, here’s what you do: Find some of the bigger creators in your space. The ones that have the audience you’re trying to build. Scroll their comments section and look for their questions that don’t already have answers. The bigger the creator, the better, because the bigger they get, the less likely they are to respond to their followers. Create a video answering those questions. and here’s the key: When you’re creating the content, shout out who asked the question and tag them in it. Because when they learn you created a video answering the question they asked their favorite creator (who happened to ignore them), they're gunna come to you in the future. And they also refer others to ask you questions. That’s the cycle of events that will eventually get you into that position where you have plenty of questions that you don’t know which to answer first. Hope that helps.
