Elections serve as a referendum on the incumbent government, prompting the question: “Is your life better today than it was four years ago?” For me, as a Ghanaian, the answer is no. Consequently, on December 7th, I will vote against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). In any election, you can vote for something that inspires you or against something you despise. I am voting against the NPP because Nana Akuffo Addo and the NPP have created a hopeless nation. A nation devoid of hope is one on the precipice of decay. Ghana lost a golden decade to become a beacon of hope and prosperity for a downtrodden continent. Instead, he unleashed eight years of incompetence and mediocrity on his people. He asked the “have-nots” to sacrifice for a better future but led the “haves” to plunder this sacrifice. He wowed the world with his words but failed his people through his actions. His failures as a president are comparable to none before him. He destroyed the dreams of many entrepreneurs. History will not be kind to his memory. Eight years ago, I had so much hope when I voted for his government to come to power. I voted for him again four years later because I held on to a false hope that he would lead differently this time. On Dec 7th, I will vote without hope for our future. I will only vote as an act of civic duty. To vote against the NPP, I will vote for H.E John Dramani Mahama. The first act of our new president must be to renew the faith of our people in government. Faith is the true shibboleth. Without it, our nation will continue on its decaying journey. Ghana cannot afford another four years of mismanagement. God Bless Our Homeland, Ghana!
Great one there boss, I kept wondering why so many young folks are refusing to call out this current NPP government for being arrogant, cruelsome and disrespectful to the plight of it's citizens. The number of people who died through suicide and frustration alone, due to the ineptitude of government, is just unacceptable and must not go unpunished. History will always be the fate of many Ghanaians, especially those who lost their family members, friends, and loved ones. What else is more brutal and suppressive than having a failed system with a compromised judiciary system? God! Thank you for given Ghana, a wonderful Speaker, Hon. Alban Bagbin. Without his compassionate love for Ghana and the youths like this cruelsome government will have just "slaughtered" us before exiting on Jan 7, 2025. To my fellow young people, the more you keep silent about it the higher our chances of depression and suicide. Your voices can bring back the better Ghana we want so that we don't have to leave homes to places we're not loved and valued. It's very shameful but Dec 7 means a lot and please don't sit quite and observe the wrong doings for electoral manipulations. Ghana and her youths deserves better.
Apt. Well said. Ghana needs better

1dI can’t wait for 4 years from now , when we awaken to “rescuing” this country from politics in it’s present disgraceful state by , (I don’t know how far we will be willing to go), changing the powers politics to empowering institutions, a national development plan that no government can stray too far away from and legally binding ways to disburse money for local development….. we need a reset that goes beyond these disgraceful 2 political parties and a system that will mean a new political landscape will not degenerate into the same . . .
