Can a leadership conference really change your life? I was sitting in the nosebleed section of the Tacoma dome on a Saturday morning at a Christian men’s conference about 30 years ago. I didn’t really want to be there. After all, can a speaker change your life? At that time, I owned a business. My business was my life and it had a tight grip on me. John Maxwell was the speaker that morning. In his talk, he said, “some of you are holding on to something so tightly, that God would have to pry it out of your hands as you finally let go of it.” Ahhh! He was talking to ME! On Monday, I got back to my office and told my partner that I wanted to sell the business and we did. My life trajectory was changed, thanks to a speaker at a leadership conference. Could your life trajectory be influenced by a leadership conference? At Convene 2024 we have 19 world class leaders who will share what God has been teaching them. They will call out to you about leadership, life, adversity, faith work integration, people problems, and technology changes we all face. If you join us for these few short days, I wonder if God might speak to you about your life trajectory? all the details are here: www.experienceconvene.com #businessasmission , #faithatwork, #leadershipmatters, #leadershipbythebook

Creating space, through active unlearning or letting go, is necessary for growth. We cannot continue to stuff new clothes in a packed closet without creating clutter and confusion. Time for some spring cleaning and clearing for your mind and heart to allow room for the new and exciting that awaits you. #leadership #success #quotes #growth #cleaning #clearing

Back to School (Work)? Don’t rush! With three clear months til Christmas, and the whole summer holidays to make up for, there’s a pressure to hit the ground running and hustle through to the end of the year. Three words of advice as I fight ‘back to school’ fomo travelling at a delightful snails pace through Stockholm’s Archipelago… 1. Know what you’re up to. 2. Show up consistently. 3. Be truly present to where you are. That’s how the magic will happen. It’s how we break the stressful spiral of more suceess = more work It’s how we take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves. And how we tap into our unique ability to create and joyful, easeful impact in the world. Does it work for you? Enjoy September! P.s join my ‘success without the stress’ masterclass on Sept 23 or reach out to explore 1-2-1 coaching options. “When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount.” This is the dead horse theory in case you didn’t know it already - In reality, many do the opposite of above stated simple straight forward logic,Instead of letting go, they go for one or all below: • let’s push harder on the dead horse may be it’s not very dead as it seems to be 😅 more efforts with no outputs at all and they wonder how come the figures never go up😅 • let’s try to revive the horse (more meetings, reports and speeches ; it’s not about what we do but how we do it- sounds amazing😉without any impact but you believe you will go for it differently- good luck ). • lets Blame external factors ( I will let that to your imagination what those factors would be) Pls recognize the difference between persistence and stagnation, prioritize agility over tradition and focus on opportunities over sunk costs 🙏 #Leadership #BusinessStrategy #Innovation

Everyone knows: The early bird gets the worm. But here’s something to think about—the second mouse gets the cheese. In business, we often praise those who act quickly. But what about those who take their time, observe, and avoid costly mistakes? The early bird may get the first bite, but the second mouse learns from the traps. It’s about balance—acting fast when needed, but being wise enough to wait when the situation calls for it. Success isn’t always about speed. Sometimes, patience and timing are your best tools. Which one are you—the bird or the mouse? 🐦🧀 #Leadership #BusinessStrategy #TimingIsEverything #DecisionMaking #PatienceAndSuccess #WorkSmarter #ProfessionalGrowth #Balance

Holiday always provides me with an opportunity to turn more than the odd page of those books sat on my bedside table 📖 This week I delved into a refresh on a classic - #GoodToGreat by Jim Collins - certainly in my top three favourite reads 🤩 Some of the best thoughts and concepts from the book include: 1️⃣ The genius of AND - embrace both extremes at the same time, such as creativity and discipline. 2️⃣ The Hedgehog Concept - the intersection of (1) your passion, (2) the thing you can be the best at in the world and (3) the thing that drives your economic engine / you can make money from. 3️⃣ Fire bullets, then cannonballs - The ability to scale innovation; to turn small, proven ideas (bullets) into huge successes (cannonballs). 4️⃣ Clock building not time telling - a leader upon whom everyone depends (time telling) vs shaping a culture that lasts long beyond any single leader (clock building). And last but by no means least … 5️⃣ The Flywheel Effect - The sequence of components, or actions, that propels into the next, generating momentum underpinning the success of great organisations. As Jim Collins poses on the back of his book, “How does your flywheel turn?”. As important to understand in great times as it is when times are challenging. #holiday #reading #FlywheelEffect #JimCollins #business #leadership

We all get the same 24 hours in a day to get things done. Work and life can move quickly as we face many demands, and if we're not careful, we can fall into the pattern of short-term thinking. But if we're focused on the next thing, how do we ever reach our long-term goals? In her book, Dorie Clark shares strategies to help you focus on "the long game" and build a life and career that are as successful as they are fulfilling. Some of my favorite key takeaways: -Doing small things over time will make your biggest goals more possible -Playing the long game is difficult - because for many of us, short-term priorities pressure us to keep doing what's easy, guaranteed, and has immediate payoff. -The long-term payoff of playing the long game is immense - and the case studies in the book support that fact. #leadership #strategies #thelonggame #dorieclark #success #goals #growth
