It's finally here... the biggest SEO study ever done in automotive! We spent 2 years studying over 1,600 dealership GBPs to see if the real-world data matches up to best practices. We now have a comprehensive list of industry averages, along with a comparison of dealers who rank #1 in the map pack to dealers who rank #10. Check out the full report, it's the most helpful data on automotive SEO ever released! https://lnkd.in/gTSE_ANn
Great study Greg. I’ve always wondered if it’s better to have 10 categories or if that waters down everthing and you should only do about four really important secondary cats like used car dealer.
Dude HOW ARE YOU SO COOL
nice work! no insight on use of video?
Loving it. Forgetting the caveats. That list of data from GBP is insane and some of those touch points. I wouldn't even have considered. This is awesome 😎
This is fantastic, Greg - great data and super interesting to read your report. Well done, my dude. 💪
well done, I think the department nugget is gold.

9hGreg, this is an amazing resource your team has put together! I started looking into a lot of these metrics shortly after Google launched GMB in 2014. SEO clients immediately wanted to be #1 in the map pack. There was so much misinformation being spread at that time about how to get there! In your opinion, has the centroid become less of an indicator as time has gone on? From your results, seems to still be the best indicator of the top rankings. As much as dealers and marketers want to manipulate the rankings -- there is no substitute for a good location. And while best practices can move the needle on showing up more often -- I think a lot of companies disingenuously sell dealers on increasing rankings when they know it's virtually impossible to game in the most competitive markets.
