The DEI cool factor is wearing thin. We, the shareholders, invest in companies that make great products, not companies wasting profits on social causes. Simply hire based on skill, merit, performance, and ability. Period. DEI is a scam built on racism. Hiring over-compensated DEI managers and creating departments devoted to this crap has been a misguided strategy all along. Totally expected because DEI is Division, Exclusion, and Indoctrination. #gowokegobroke #dei #leadership #shareholdervalue #wolfspeed #entegris

As I say goodbye to Chegg after three years, I reflect on whether one person can make an impact. I know there are common misconceptions that DEI work is just about events, programs or initiatives. In truth, it's about creating systemic change, embedding inclusive practices into every aspect of the operations, and maintaining consistent investment in these efforts. While one person can catalyze change, they cannot – and should not – carry this responsibility alone. This truth resonates even more deeply now as I depart from Chegg. I'm proud of the work I've been able to accomplish, from building and developing the organization’s culture, to bringing in community organizing experts who equipped employees with new frameworks for change, to reimagining our hiring process from sourcing through interviewing. I'm incredibly proud to have worked alongside over 50+ ERG Leaders who have created vibrant communities, fostered a sense of belonging, and championed inclusion across the organization. At the same time, I struggle because I know I could have done a lot more. As the last remaining member of the DEI team, I've reflected extensively on the nature of institutional change. The true measure of an organization's dedication to DEI isn't in the moments of celebration, but in its willingness to invest in and sustain this critical work, especially during challenging times. The answer to my opening reflection is both yes and no. Yes, because every individual has the power to spark change and challenge the status quo. And no, because lasting, meaningful change requires more than individual effort – it demands sustained organizational commitment, dedicated resources, and unwavering institutional support. Lastly, to Kristal Cobb, Tameka Green, and Stacie Jaramillo: thank you for being the rare kind of managers who truly see, nurture, and champion their people. Having such remarkable leaders back-to-back has been a gift that has shaped not only my career but my understanding of what genuine leadership looks like. As for what's next? An overdue break, preferably somewhere on a beach. 🏖️ #DEI #SystemicChange #CareerTransition #NextChapter

I expected the industry to rally behind my expansion plans with open arms. Perhaps I was some what naive, after almost two decades in the event industry I thought advice, mentoring, support would just roll in. However, reality hit hard—many simply didn't care. Yet, amidst the indifference, a few champions emerged, offering unwavering support. It's often in the unexpected corners of life where true support resides. Despite facing criticism and discouragement from some, including leaders of established organisations , I've remained resilient, steadfast in pursuing my vision. Perseverance and the courage to use my voice even when it feels like no one is listening, have become invaluable assets. I refuse to play small; instead, I embrace the power of my voice and the impact of my actions-because trust they notice the impact. I don't subscribe to BBB-EE; it is a concept that was created in the best intentions but unfortunately ended being manipulated. Yes on paper it is there because I am black however I don’t advertise or refer to the company as black owned/black female owned/level whatever contributor. That’s not the reputation I’m trying to build or known for. We are STF is entrusted because of the human qualities I have as leader, the team behind me and the great quality work we deliver. Heavy is the Head that wears the crown, I plan on wearing this crown for awhile. In this journey, I've learned that the weight of leadership is substantial, but I'm ready to wear this crown proudly for the long haul. My worth transcends categories. I'm defined by the quality of my work and the essence of my character. I will not be bullied! Here's to us, We are STF—Spirited, Tenacious, Focused! 💪🏽 We're ready to conquer the world. 🌍 #BrandExpansion #Perseverance #branddevelopment #newagency #strategicpartner #worldclassprojects #contactustoday #brandmaverick #branddesign #eventsandbrandmarketing #support #success #valueadd #growthmarketing #exponentialgrowth #eventprofs #eventmanagement #eventdesign #poweredbystf #leadershipdevelopment #2024strategy #goalsetting #tenacity #wework #Innovation #StayTuned #BusinessTransformation #CommunityEngagement #customerloyalty #newclients

Today for our 2024-2025 FWIT Leadership Team feature, we are excited to introduce Nichole Williamson. She will be serving as our Social Media Chair (aka the one managing LinkedIn 😄) ⭐ Meet Nichole below! ⭐ What do you most look forward to in your role this year? I'm excited to learn more from experts in the financial space. Although my background is not directly in banking but rather in marketing banks and their leaders, I know I will get so much value from the other members of FWIT and their insights. I'm also so thrilled to connect further with incredible women from all over the state of Texas! What is your Favorite FWIT memory? Speaking at the Financial Women in Texas - Austin Group and the Financial Women in Texas-Gulf Coast Group meetings was so wonderful! Everyone had great questions, and I really enjoyed learning more about everyone's goals and talking about accelerating trust as a banker. What is the best piece of advice you have received? Listening is the key to growing. In your opinion, what's the most important thing every member should pay attention to in the banking industry? How to truly leverage your own personal thought leadership to build awareness for your role and your bank. The standard ways of marketing in banking are gone, and so I hope others look at the opportunity to expand their awareness and grow their impact within their communities. Who has been your biggest mentor and what impact did they have on you? I have been fortunate to have many impactful mentors who have shaped my life. Rusty Shelton and Paige Velasquez Budde (Zilker Media) are two key people who have helped me develop and learn as I have grown in my career. I wouldn't be where I am today without them. #FWIT #womeninbanking #womeninleadership #banking #communitybanks #communitybanking
