Too often, when considering changes to our educational environment, we either neglect to include the students (our priority stakeholders) or we bring them to the table without the foundational knowledge and training needed to navigate the systems of change. Many organizations put kids on their boards or give them a seat at important discussion tables simply to say they did it. They are checking a box on the inclusion list. Why not empower young people to facilitate those conversations and make the decisions that will impact their futures? https://lnkd.in/gKZYVs-F

In case you’re not one of the 11m people who have watched this #tedtalk given by a child to stress the importance of development in the #earlyyears Most importantly, the healthy interactive relationship between parent and baby/toddler. The Serve Return. Simple, critical but sadly, not always the case. #earlychildhooddevelopment #adversechildhoodexperiences #education #parenting Early Intervention Foundation (EIF)

Dividing ourselves and generating conflict is an all too easy trap to fall into, especially with the precarious way the education system is balanced at present... Every 'stakeholder' is encouraged to point the finger at each other, rather than take a step back and see the view from a different perspective. It is clear; the vast majority of us (apart from those blinkered by a questionable dogma) have the same priority; whether you are a parent, carer, child, school leader, teacher, staff member or part of the wider community - we all want the best for our learners. The children and their futures is all that really matters, isn't it? If we can find and support the ties that bring us all together, we can achieve an environment that is secure and safe, for both staff and children - and welcoming for parents. We know to be able to thrive and learn we need to feel safe and wrapped up in secure relationships. We all want ‘change’ but are we willing to be self-reflective enough to change ourselves - and the way we support each other?

Dear parenting educators and coaches: I’ve been watching something happening to parents, and the way we work with them for a long time. I can’t dance around it any longer. It’s time to talk more openly about it, and begin to contribute more fully to reshaping the status quo. Read my letter to family professionals to find out what I'm concerned about, how I'm responding, and what you can do about it, too. https://lnkd.in/ezrqFuBr

🌟 Cultivating Compassion Over Cruelty: A Relational Harmony Perspective 🌟 In a world that often echoes with the sharpness of cruelty, it's imperative we reshape our dialogue around the development of character in both children and adults. The saying that "children can be cruel" is not just a passive observation—it's a challenge to all of us to foster environments where kindness, patience, and compassion are the norms, not exceptions. At Relational Harmony, we believe that these virtues are essential, not optional. They form the bedrock of not only personal success but also societal harmony. Teaching compassion and kindness from a young age shapes individuals who are not only well-loved but who also lead by example in treating others with respect. What if you're unsure how to teach these values? You're not alone. Many feel unprepared or overwhelmed by the task. That's why at Relational Harmony, we provide resources and guidance to help everyone learn—not just what these values are, but how to instill them effectively. Why is this important? Because the narrative we accept and promote impacts the future. Normalising cruelty under the guise of "children will be children" prepares a pathway towards selfishness and abuse in adulthood. Instead, instilling virtues like empathy and understanding equips future generations to build a world where respect and care are reflexes, not afterthoughts. 🔗 Learn more about how Relational Harmony champions these values and teaches the methods Let's commit to a narrative of nurturing, not negligence. Because when we teach love and kindness, we aren't just raising children—we're raising the standard for everyone. #KindnessMatters #CompassionInAction #RelationalHarmony #CharacterBuilding #Education #LoveInAction
