Whenever we talk about communicating and disseminating project results, we refer to activities intended to ensure that results are appropriately recognised, proven, and implemented on a wide scale to ensure the sustainability of the project. There are a few objectives to the WP 7 Communications, Dissemination and Sustainability Plan led by acceleration partner, @Momentum. The Accelerate Future HEI project aims to transform HEIs, helping them amplify their capabilities and realise their potential to drive knowledge and innovation. By reinforcing HEIs' role as drivers of regional and European ecosystems, we support shared objectives between the EU and Member States’ initiatives, ultimately transforming HEIs' activities and service to society missions. A fantastic and challenging start to #ISBE2024 Prof Sue Marlowe talking about how far the #entrepreneurship discipline and community has come, and talking about where the focus needs to be going forwards. Going forwards she urges the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) audience to: challenge individualism and individual responsibility and to think more about collective development, how we change the environment to be more supportive and...making sure we do no harm. A great opening to the conference...the theme of which is: Research, policy and practice for a more equitable world. Looking forward to presenting two papers today that link to the theme, one about the impacts of #cooperative businesses and one about #hopepunk entrepreneurship and its implications for #EntEd :). There is a commitment from the new government to double the size of the #coop economy and coops are business formations which are structured democratically and organised for equitable rewards... and therefore they are a living example of how business and entrepreneurship contributes to a more equitable world...

This week, as part of my research for my session on "Entrepreneurship Education and Innovation Ecosystems" at the Global Entrepreneurship Educators Symposium 2024, I revisited this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Monitor annual report. I was part of the 25-year study during my time at Emprende IAE, coordinating Argentina's chapter. However, once again, I was impressed by its comprehensiveness, its ability to develop a global picture to understand entrepreneurship ecosystems worldwide, and, mainly, the value of 25 years of building a unique set of data. Some key insights I wanted to share from the 2023 global report and opportunities (to my surprise) for further development in the global entrepreneurial ecosystem: ➡ Entrepreneurship education remains on the debit side at all levels (31 out of 49 economies assessed as poor). A phrase that struck me: “Many new businesses may never come to fruition because a generation of schoolchildren grew up unaware that starting a business was a possibility.” ➡ Entrepreneurial activity rates are highly variable, with low-income countries presenting the highest rates of adults starting and running new businesses. ➡ One may think it is getting better, but it seems that even in 2024, we still have a significant amount of work to do in promoting and supporting women entrepreneurs.
