Hello LinkedIn! After 3 years of being on this platform, I’m excited to finally share my first post. I turned 31 last October 7 and it had me reflecting on all the realizations that came with the past year. Hitting 30 brought new perspectives on growth, priorities, and the things that truly matter. It’s been a year of learning and transformation. As I step into this next chapter, I’m excited about what’s ahead. I’m quietly working on something that’s been pushing me in exciting directions, and I can’t wait to see where it leads. Though I’m not ready to share just yet, I know it’s going to be a defining part of my journey this coming year. I recently had the privilege of honouring the incredible people who have been with Discovery Invest for 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years at our annual Long-Service Awards.   For me, this event is more than a ceremony – it’s a reminder of the remarkable people who have built this business through their dedication and belief in our core purpose.   We often say that Discovery Limited was built on a founder’s mindset, but the truth is that it’s the commitment of every individual who shows up each day with creativity, resilience, and a desire to make a difference. These are the people who truly bring our vision to life. Each person honoured exemplifies what sets Discovery apart – a team that goes the extra mile, innovates fearlessly, and embodies a founder’s mindset. It’s not only about financial returns; it’s about the remarkable ‘return on people’ that genuinely drives our success.   I felt especially proud to recognise Chantelle Smit and Jacqueline Smith for celebrating 20 years with us, and Andrew Naidoo and Sandhya Naduramuthu who have journeyed with us for 25 years. Last night, I did something I never thought I’d have the courage to do - I stepped out of my comfort zone and performed a skit and sang in front of colleagues from across the region to celebrate our company’s 25th anniversary. As an introvert, this was a monumental challenge for me. But sometimes, the most profound growth happens when we take that leap into the unknown. Although I wasn’t perfect, I discovered something powerful within myself - a new level of confidence and a sense of connection with my colleagues. It reminded me that taking risks, no matter how small, can lead to meaningful experiences and bonds that last a lifetime. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my incredible lunch buddies who I dragged into this adventure with me. 😅 Your unwavering support, encouragement, and infectious laughter made all the difference. You stood by me, cheering me on and reminding me that I wasn’t alone. As we celebrate 25 wonderful years at ShareInvestor, I’m grateful for the connections we’ve built and the journey we’ve shared. THANKFUL THURSDAY: I'M THANKFUL FOR LIVING MY DREAM OF BEING A BUSINESS OWNER!!! Tomorrow marks the 2-year anniversary of Magnetic Cultures and it's been a wild ride. None of it would be possible without the support of friends, family, and clients along the way. THANK YOU!!! ⤴ Has it been easy? No. ⤴ Have I made a million mistakes and failed every day? Yes. ⤴ Have I learned from those mistakes and moved forward? Yes. ⤴ Would I do it all over again? Absolutely!!! Along this exciting trip, I've gained valuable insights and grown as a professional and a person. My Top 10 lessons learned as a new business owner: 1. Embrace my authentic self of being a corporate dolphin, not a shark. 2. Build connections regularly, resist isolation. 3. Be honest, don't say something I can't actually do or deliver. 4. Operate out of curiosity, not judgement. 5. Stay others-focused, not self-centered. 6. Collaborate with niche-mates, don't compete with other pros in this space. 7. Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets my soul on fire, don't ease up. 8. Expect challenges and find fresh solutions. 9. Continuously learn & practice self-reflection daily, don't be complacent. 10.
