🔒 Ensuring Safety at School Sporting Events: A Community Priority 🏀🏈 School sporting events are more than just games—they’re moments of pride, connection, and celebration for students, parents, and the whole community. But as attendance grows, so does the responsibility to ensure these gatherings remain safe and enjoyable for everyone involved. Effective event safety at schools requires a layered approach: 1️⃣ Trained Security Personnel - On-site, vigilant, and ready to respond to any incident. 2️⃣ Crowd Management - Monitoring entrances/exits and seating areas to prevent overcrowding. 3️⃣ Clear Communication - Easy access to emergency contacts and clear communication channels during the event. 4️⃣ Preparation & Training - Ensuring staff, volunteers, and even students are aware of emergency procedures. 5️⃣ Community Engagement - Safety is everyone's responsibility, and building awareness helps everyone be part of the solution. Keeping school events safe isn’t just about security—it's about peace of mind. When students, staff, and families feel safe, they’re free to focus on the joy of the game and the spirit of community. Let's continue to support initiatives and practices that make school events memorable for all the right reasons! Talking about safety and summer usually makes people think about drinking water, putting on sunscreen, and using bug spray. Here at BBYO CAW, summer safety means creating healthy boundaries with counselors, body safety, not keeping secrets, and more. Help make sure that your camper is ready by: 🔹 Providing a clear understanding of where they can go for help at camp or at home 🔹 Teaching them about body safety and that they can say no to any touch, high-five, or hug from an adult or peer 🔹 Encouraging surprises but not keeping secrets – everyone eventually gets let in on surprises but no adult should ask a child to keep a secret Let’s make sure that every camper feels confident to take on camp in a safe and healthy way this summer.
