"It is the dawn of the solar age" The Economist's forecast for solar growth. As the price per kW falls, demand will increase, driving an increase in production and installation. "This virtuous circle will make solar the dominant energy source globally by 2060."

Last year, solar generated a record 5.5% of global electricity, the Ember report added, and 34 economies in the world are now generating over 10% of their electricity from solar power. In the U.K. we should mandate that every large distribution centre being built and every warehouse built needs to have solar panels fitted so we can use the roof space as an asset whilst the PV technology is low cost! This would mean the U.K. could transition very quickly to renewable energy generation and help reduce the carbon footprint of these buildings drastically. I guess the connections to the grid will act as a deployment resistance but we could mandate frameworks to overcome this. What do you think? Time to change the game? https://lnkd.in/dzPSKahJ

🚫🌞 Myth Busters: Solar Edition! There's a lot of misinformation out there about solar energy, and we're here to set the record straight! Myth 1: Solar panels don't work on cloudy days. Truth: Solar panels can still generate power, albeit less, under cloudy skies! Myth 2: Solar is too expensive. Truth: Prices have dropped significantly, and with various financing options, solar is more accessible than ever! Myth 3: Solar panels require constant maintenance. Truth: Solar panels are low maintenance; a little cleaning is all they need to keep them efficient. Have more myths you want busted? Drop them below! #SolarMyths #AKASolarFacts

Such a power visual representation showing the energy transition scenario and dominance of solar energy in coming years. Prices of solar have already been cheaper than most energy sources even in 2024 for over half the globe. Though grid resilience, storage, distributed supply chains (with critical minerals), and finance are still some of the barriers that solar industry needs to overcome. But the grass is greener on both the sides. As professor Pierre Verlinden mentioned - 'Transition is happening now'. This image is taken from a research article titles - The momentum of the solar energy transition. https://lnkd.in/gR_TksDa

A very telling picture and great to see. Solar is the lowest cost of new energy we have and its growth has been exponential and is expected to continue on that trajactory. And so is storage that goes hand in hand with intermittent sources
