Another glorious summer day, another day with our beloved village local closed. Although I do get a sense that there might be something in the offing. We'll see. Watch this space. In the meantime, I'm adding a beer and venue guide to Beer Today. Not to replace any other guide, just as a standalone guide to which venues (pubs, bars, taprooms) are consistently great, and which beers (which must be available all the time or make regular appearances) are really unmissable. Let me know by emailing [email protected] or via DM. Your suggestion(s) must include a reason behind the nomination, and all will be checked out thoroughly, of course, before being added to the guide. Go! #beer #pubs #cider #bars #taprooms #recommendations

Don’t assume success… Lost Distellery enetered a hyper competitive market with a high price tag in an off the beaten path location. They engineered a lot of head winds into their go to market strategy. My guess is lots of people saw this business and assumed it was successful. If you went there on a Friday night you might have found it full. I talk to entrepreneurs all the time that presume other businesses they see are successful. And then they use that assumption as input into their own strategy. Building a GTM strategy on non-validated assumptions is dangerous. You stack them up and your business all of a sudden becomes a house of cards. Be aware of your assumptions.

Lost Spirits Distillery, a place where you could eat a 16-course meal in a submarine while watching acrobats is unfortunately walking the plank. Turns out, selling $355 dinners in a fake submarine wasn’t the gold mine it was envisioned to be, even with dragon-topped stills. LBE looking to pop up in Vegas might want to take note that even a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea-themed restaurant with its own rum distillery and Cirque-style entertainment couldn't make the cut.

Sharing a video that captures a moment that matters to me and is very very special. Recently I got the opportunity to visit the home of Patron, in Jalisco, Hacienda, Mexico. Having been to many Malts distilleries, this experience was quite different. The food , the culture, Music, the hospitality and ofcourse my favourite Patron Tequila everything was unique. There are many fun facts that I learned during my journey but I am not sure if you know - 1. Did you know that it can take upto 8 years for an Agave Plant to grow before it is plucked for making Tequila? 2. Did you know that Patron is made with 100% Weber Blue Agave? 3. Did you know that it takes 60 Hands to make a bottle of Patron? 4. Did you know that Patron uses traditional methods to make Tequila? Probably Not. If you already did then answer the question below - What's the name of the special mill that is used for making Patron and what is it made of ? Bacardi #Patron is Made by the hands and crafted with passion.

ICYMI: Episode 130 is live! I'm joined by Rich Stabile, owner, founder, and distiller at Long Island Spirits and Field & Sound out on the North Fork. Long Island Spirits is the island's first craft distillery and first distillery (legal, at least!) since Prohibition. Their new core lineup, Field & Sound, pays homage to the local fields and the Long Island Sound that give the whiskey (and rum and brandy!) their unique flavor. Just in time for Bottled-in-Bond month, they're all BIB, too (except the bourbon finished in rum or brandy casks - those are a mouthwatering 120º). Among all the highlights I could write, here's the one that stands out: the effort put into the pre-barrel spirit. Plenty of distilleries - most of them, honestly - will make an ok to good spirit, betting on the magic of the barrel to transform it into something drinkable. Rich and the team take a different approach, relying on the local grain and fields to provide the flavor, with #2 char Kelvin Cooperage barrels maturing but not masking that hard-earned taste. The result is something truly of Long Island, never losing the character of my home region. Listen and subscribe here: https://bit.ly/WRP130

🍺⭐️ 🥳YOU CAN NOW RATE ANY BEER AT ANY TIME 🥳 ⭐️🍺 We have finally added the new feature to The Beer Explorers rating website! We have wanted this feature for a while as it allows users to rate any beer at any time. This means users are no longer limited to only rating beers at festivals or bound by the beers prepopulated on the website. This is great as we can now recommend beers after beer festivals to attendees that they didn't try at the event and see how much they like our recommendations! As always you can then track all your beer reviews through "Your Ratings". This new feature is beautifully demonstrated in the video below! #beerexplorers #beernerd #beerstagram #beersuk #beerrating

Whiskey Wednesdays vs. Taco Tuesdays? Whiskey by a mile but hey, there's room for both. Just stick with whiskey for the virtual experiences. Trust me on that one. #drinkcurious #chiefdrinkingofficer #bourbon #whiskeywednesday #tacotuesday

The "20 Best Vodkas for 2024" are in and we're proud to share that Castle & Key Sacred Spring Vodka is one of them! Did you know? Our vodka utilizes the same mash bill as our bourbon (73 percent corn, 10 percent rye, and 17 percent malted barley) VinePair describes it best by saying, "with its sweet and spicy grain character, hints of candy and flowers, this is a layered, nuanced vodka, and high-quality mixing spirit." 🍸 Learn more at the link. #castleandkey >> https://bit.ly/3VJ0ZYG
