🌟 Experiencing Patient Frustrations: Navigating Autism Evaluations 🌟 As a pediatrician, the challenges faced by families seeking autism evaluations resonate deeply with me. Recently, a family brought me assessment results indicating autism, yet state regulations hindered me from providing a formal diagnosis and initiating crucial therapeutic services like ABA therapy. Witnessing families navigate through complex systems, facing delays and additional assessments, is disheartening. The process adds unnecessary stress and barriers to accessing essential care, leaving families in limbo. The frustration felt by patients and myself underscores the urgent need for streamlined evaluation processes and improved access to support services. Together, let's advocate for change and work towards a healthcare system that prioritizes timely and comprehensive care for all children in need. #PediatricPerspective #PatientAdvocacy #AutismSupport #autismaction #healthcare #DadLife #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #Docs2Dads #future
