As the fall semester ends, I wanted to reflect on one of my classes. This semester I had taken Senior Thesis: a class where you spend an entire semester on a project of your choice and then create an installation to be critiqued on. With my major in Graphic Design and my minor in Sports Communications, I wanted to combine the two within this project. So I decided to create a female football team that is loosely based off of a corresponding NFL team. The team I created was the Washington Warriors! The reason for this was because I wanted to highlight the possibilities of women’s sports, which is rapidly gaining more and more recognition. I also had the pleasure of interviewing a female flag football player, KyLee Caetano ! Throughout this project I created a name, logo, color palette, mock-ups (helmet and jerseys), and marketing posters! I also got to learn about fabric printing for my jersey mock-ups, which helped make them have that jersey feel and quality. To see this semester-long project finally come to life has been so rewarding and I am so proud of the way it turned out!
