Rentokil Initial Washroom Hygiene, part of the Rentokil Initial UK family, are on a mission to ensure period dignity for all, and a huge part of this is ensuring everyone has the education needed for comfortable and safe periods. Did you know, shockingly, over three quarters of British women were not taught how to use tampons ahead of starting their first period? To help rectify this 'education gap', we've been working with Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr Shazia Malik, securing coverage across the Daily Express, The Sun, the Daily Mirror and the Daily Star.

🧼 Ensuring hygiene in schools is crucial for a healthy environment. In our positioning paper you can read about the importance of using paper towels over air dryers, and why this particularly important in schools: 📢Noise & accessibility: Jet air dryers can reach noise levels up to 94 dB*. Due to their smaller size, heads of children or people with physical disabilities are closer to the Jet Air dryer leading to even higher noise levels**. Paper towels have the best accessibility, are suitable for all age groups and thus are explicitly recommended by the RKI for medical facilities. 👧👨🦽Accessibility: Paper towel dispensers are user-friendly and accessible for all age groups, ensuring everyone can dry their hands effectively. This is vital in schools where both young children and individuals with physical abilities need to use restroom facilities safely. Prioritize safe and hygienic practices in schools and choose paper towels for a healthier future🙏 #SatinoByWEPA #SchoolHygiene #HealthySchools *Robert-Koch-Institut. We are excited to introduce our Oral Care Champion, Biji Sijo, Senior Care Assistant at Langdale House. We asked Biji three key questions: 1. How do you implement good oral hygiene practice with residents and staff? Natural teeth should be brushed twice daily, once in the morning and once before bed at night. 2. How do you encourage our residents to independently maintain good oral hygiene habits? Encouraging our residents to maintain good oral hygiene habits independently involves promoting a consistent brushing routine at least twice daily. We emphasise the importance of thorough and regular teeth cleaning, stressing the benefits of routine dental check-ups. Additionally, we advocate for increased water consumption, emphasise the need for regular toothbrush replacement, and strongly discourage smoking. Furthermore, we recommend using mouthwash as part of a comprehensive oral care routine. 3. What advice would you give to everyone on the importance of oral Hygiene? Remember to prioritise oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice daily and cleaning between your teeth regularly using dental floss or a special brush. Biji, we appreciate your dedication to the well-being of our residents at Langdale House. Your commitment is truly commendable, and we are grateful for everything you do. #Champions #langdalecarehomesuk #WeCare #NursingHome #EverydayIsDifferent #CareGivers #DementiaCare #carehomesuk #ResidentialCareHome #DementiaFriendly #carehomeactivities #carehomeactivitiesmatter #socialcaresuccess

Three brand new guides from our Hygiene category: https://lnkd.in/eKSu2gEZ · Assisting an adult with toileting: Using a toilet · Assisting an adult with toileting: Using a commode · Assisting an adult with toileting: Using a urinal in bed Elimination is considered to be one of the fundamental activities of daily living. People may require assistance with toileting and the amount of help required will vary according to individual need. Some patients will be able to transfer to a commode or walk to a bathroom with differing levels of assistance, while others will require a slipper bedpan or a urinal. The level of assistance needed depends on various factors, including the patient’s current medical condition, vital signs, mobility, cognition and level of pain. Healthcare staff should always consult the patient’s moving and handling risk assessment before assisting with toileting, and must do everything possible to maintain the patient’s privacy and dignity. These three new, fully illustrated guides cover the practical steps involved in safely helping a patient to the toilet, to transfer to a commode or to use a urinal or slipper bedpan. #toileting #clinical #nursing #elearning

As nurses we ignore the signs & abuse that the profession has put upon us. We are dopamine depleting & coffee chugging. Our nervous system is deregulated, yet we push through everyday. Burns First Aid Giving immediate first aid can help to decrease the severity of a burn Thank you to our colleagues at Surgeons for Little Lives for their educational video! 1. Don't cover the burn with ointment butter milk or home remedies as they can make the burn worse 2. Do not tear off any clothing stuck to a burn but remove clothing around burn. Keep the child warm e.g. in a blanket while treating the burn. 3. Run cool tap water over the burn for 20 minutes (if no tap, use a bucket or jug). Do not use ice or iced water. 4. If a blister forms, do not break it open. 5.Dry sterile gauze or Burnshield® dressing may be applied to protect the burnt area once it has been cooled whilst seeking help 6. Make your way to the paediatrician or hospital for any burns that blister, burns on sensitive areas of the body (hand, feet, face, eye, groin) or those that cover an area larger than the child’s hand should always be attended to by immediately. Disclaimer: this post is not intended to provide medical advice. Advice on treatment or care of an individual patient should be obtained through consultation with a doctor or other health professional that has examined the patient and is familiar with the patient's medical history. #drgrahamjones #paediatrics #burns #treatment #SurgeonsforLittleLives
